dropdeded 0 #1 October 22, 2003 Get home, eat some dinner, hit the books. Take a break about every 45 minutes. Sometimes spend the whole evening studying. Sometimes pretty late. Finish whats left in the morning. Anybody have a "set" schedule that they stick too? Im just asking because this is a new deal for me and its pretty important. Some of this stuff is pretty freekin hard and I'd like to be able to retain some of the info, matter of fact, thats what I HAVE to do. I just worry about overloading this shit and forgetting. This is stuff I have next to NO previous knowledge of. anyways, blah blah blah, back to work dropdeded------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
moodyskydiver 0 #2 October 22, 2003 I don't like set schedules.Besides, I usually wait til the last possible minute and go into a frenzy getting everything done. I do my best studying sittin' in the courtyard of the college (or in the hallway outside the class) and just read through my notes or the highlights of the material right before I go in to take a test or quiz. Homework I usually wait til the night before.(Just finished 3hrs researching/writing a paper thats due in the morning that I've known about for 3 weeks.) If I actually try to study several days before a test I'll go completely blank and not retain a single word. But a vigorous cram session and I'm just fine.I'm sure my habits will change once I transfer to SHSU.I'm just weird. Eiley 0 #5 October 22, 2003 Sit down, determined to get X amount of work done today. Start reading... notice that the dishes need doing. Damn, I know I won't be able to study with that mess there. Dishes done, sit down again, but figure I better check email first. Then I remember that there are some messages in there a few days old... better reply or my friends might think I'm snubbing them. Okay, that's done. Now I can really get to work. Start a bit of google research. Hey, look, somehow an interesting link that has nothing to do with Tax Law has popped up. I'll have a quick read. Lunch time. Gotta eat or won't be able to study properly. Okay, full now. Better grab the legislation and really get stuck into it. Somehow I got a little behind. Oh, the dog's looking at me with those sad eyes... I didn't walk him yesterday because of the rain. I really should take him to the park. Anyway, a walk after lunch aids digestion and clears the head. Okay, now I'm really ready. Plug in the headphones to listen to one of the lectures I'd missed online. Realplayer starts... taking a couple of minutes to get going. Hey, I wonder whether anyone's posted in that thread I've been following on DZ.com? I'll check while I'm waiting. Wow, 602 new posts. Oops, the lecture's been going 45 minutes and I haven't taken any of it in because of all the interesting posts. Ah well, I've done everything now. Time to really get stuck into it. I study much better in the afternoons anyway. Does that little cloud mean it might rain soon? Better bring the washing in, just in case... Hey, it's 8:30! Damn, Survivor's on tonight. Oh well, I didn't really need to get as much done as I'd planned this morning. Tomorrow I'll really get stuck into it! How I made it to the point where I'll be graduating in a couple of weeks is beyond me! Cheers, Eiley nothing to see here
aero04 0 #6 October 22, 2003 Nope, no schedule for me. I study when I need to, but I don't study on weekends, unless absolutely necessary. Luckily, this semester I have almost all design work, so not so much studying.
dropdeded 0 #7 October 22, 2003 Im getting a crapload of new info everyday, and most, if not ALL of it is pretty important stuff. Tons of notes, tons of homework. Its all medical shit and I really want to learn it. I am going for EMT to start and if I kill to many people I probably wont ever advance to anything higher , so I need to retain this stuff. It might help if this stuff was in english dropdeded------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
prepheckt 0 #8 October 22, 2003 I have a very strict schedule, but I highly recommend that you get out and exercise..it helps alot, lets your mind wander, and you retain alot more, and take breaks at shorter intervals. 25-30 minutes...you tend to remember the first and last thing of what you study better."Dancing Argentine Tango is like doing calculus with your feet." -9 toes
mr2mk1g 10 #9 October 22, 2003 lets see... 4 years of law school... 1st year did nothing but drink, (I mean seriously the year's a blur). 2nd year worked full time but worked real hard at uni too 3rd year still working but also worked real hard at uni 4th year took up skydiving and didnt work much at all at uni or at work. Passed everything first time with a top grade. Then did a year at Bar school... worked insainly hard for 6 months (yes insainly is the only way to describe it) then pissed off to perris for 2 weeks skydiving instead of doing any revision before my finals which I took the week after I returned to the UK. I passed everything with one of the highest grades in my year. I get called to the Bar next month. Whoo for me. Just proves you don't actually have to revise so long as you are shit hot... its just convincing everyone else that your shit hot that takes hard work.
