MissMae 0 #2 October 26, 2003 Makes you wonder why the continue to get children when they obviously don't really want them. They won't care for them or love them. Do the same thing to them, put them in a closet and starve their stupid asses. take the time to appreciate the people around you.

gremlin 0 #4 October 26, 2003 It really upsets me when you read about people throwing weighted dogs into rivers to drown them. If you can't look after them don't get them, if you don't want them give them to the RSPCA.I'm drunk, you're drunk, lets go back to mine....

McDuck 0 #7 October 27, 2003 The bigger travesty here is that the STATE AGENCY that was supposed to be looking out for the welfare of those kids for exactly these kinds of atrocities seemed to have decided that starved, paint-chip eating children were routine. I say the "parents", case worker and branch office there need to all stand trial together and go to a prison where they can spend some quality time in solitary confinement.Kevin - Sonic Beef #5 - OrFun #28 "I never take myself too seriously, 'cuz everybody know fat birds don't fly." - FLC Online communities: proof that people never mature much past high school. vonSanta 0 #8 October 27, 2003 I've always advocated that one should get certified before being allowed to bring children into this world. Of course this goes against freedom and whatnot - but wtf is the 'environment restrictions' placed upon us jumpers then, huh? Seriously though, it is no wonder the world is what it is today. Most people get an instinctive desire to have kids - and need or drive they just need to fulfill. they think not about whether they're ready, mature, secure enough or whatnot - they just get kids to satisfy THEIR urges. And that's for many who want kids. Even worse for those who just get them without any real desire. Fortunately there are some responsible people who think it through. Stories like this one just brings up primitive urges in me - such as wanting to seriously hurt or kill the parents in question. Pammi 0 #9 October 27, 2003 QuoteYou can bet they will burn in hell for doing shit like that. Absolutely. I wish we had the sort of legal system that allowed us to do to the criminal what they did to others. Starve these bastards like they did those poor kids. Nightingale 0 #12 October 27, 2003 I think a lot of folks here are confusing adoption with foster parenting... With foster parenting, the kids are wards of the state. the state is responsible for them and checks up on them regularly. With adoption, the names are changed on the birth certificate, and the law, for all intents and purposes, considers the parents to have the same legal rights as if the child was born to them. After a few months, there are no visits or checkups, and the parents make all normal decisions for the children. if the children in the story had been adopted, it would make sense that the state wasn't visiting them. However, the adoption process had a major breakdown in this case and foster care isn't as secure as one would hope that it were. My wife and I were foster parents ONCE. We were prepared for Social Services to invade our home at their whim to check on our foster daughter. Not only did the case worker not come by at all during the four months that the child was with us-She (case worker) wouldn't return our calls when we needed information. People said "Well, that's because ya'll are obviously trustworthy." Bull! While we tried our best to provide a safe, loving environment there is no excuse for DSS not to come by. Just for the record, I wasn't impressed with the adoptive parents when I met them, either.I am not the man. But the man knows my name...and he's worried
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
