Pammi

Wine for the beer drinker.

Recommended Posts

heya pammi!

I randomly bought a few bottles recently as I've been testing out my wine tastes. Found one that was cheap at the grocery store (7-8$/bottle) and went down very smoothly. It was called Baywoods Symphony (2000). cheap, yummy, and not even a screw off cap! It's a white, served cold.

Pammi,

Red wine is meant to be at room temp, while the lighter wines are usually chilled. Vallerina suggested Kendall Jackson Chardonnay. That is an excellent choice if you're at a restaurant or at home. If you're near a Trader Joes, you should also try Charles Shaw. Cheers!

Hmmm... not bad wine smarts ;)
I prefer wines (Red) Because of my italian backround it was always something that we drank for dinner, and I learned alot about wines going to wine tasting all over the world.
Now I'm just so used to red wine, it is my drink of choice.... Of course there are much more yummy alcoholic beverages to be had. ;)

Noooo....!!!!!!!!!

They are supposed to be a bit cooler then room temp, unless your room is at 17 Celcius (which is a bit cool):)

But that being said, room temp or just a tad cooler is OK for me, but really, if you are in a good restaurant and pay the silly amounts of $ that they charge for wine, you're entitled to getting you're money's worth.

That's what I've been told also. It was explained to me that it means room temperature in places like France, NOT the hot and humid southern US.

Chardonnay's aren't sweet. But some nice sweet white wines that you'd want to have cold would be a Gewurtstrauminer or a Riesling. Both are sweet, but not too sweet to have with dinner. Muscato (also white) is really sweet and probably more of a dessert wine.

Of the red wines, you can get some Merlots that have a nice sweetness.
