wmw999 2,588 #5 October 27, 2003 Shit. Well, a hornet's net was stirred up, and it pays to remember that folks who are willing to randomly kill invaders might get bored with that eventually, and randomly (or specifically) target others. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. Skyrad 0 #6 October 27, 2003 I don't in anyway condone this act. But, I can see why the Red Cross was targeted. Its hard to keep up resentment against the western occupation forces if people see an improvement in their day to day lives. Also its even worse if you're a Wahibi Islamic organisation and what appears to be a organisation with a Christian symbol starts gaining favour amoungst the local population. Looks like a strategic strike to the heart of the West's hearts and minds operation, when viewed through Wahibi lense's.When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. billvon 3,116 #8 October 27, 2003 >Bring Them ON. All the things that happened today in Iraq: Two soldiers wounded in Fallujah during an RPG attack link One soldier killed, two wounded in mortar attack at Abu Gharib prison near Baghdad. link Mortar rounds were fired into US administration compound in central Baghdad. link Two US soldiers killed, two wounded in bomb ambush in Baghdad. link Suicide bomber kills 18 at Red Cross headquarters in Baghdad and nearby police stations. link Three Iraqi policemen killed, ten US soldiers wounded in bombing at Al-Elam police station in Baghdad's Khark district. link Keep these people in your thoughts. Larry, one of our TM's, came back from Afghanistan with a huge hole in his leg, covered with skin grafts and muscle transplants. It looked like he would never walk again, but he was recovering well and getting around on crutches. And his was a minor wound. There are people coming back with no arms and legs, and there are people who will never walk, or even be able to move below the neck, again. It is people like Larry who pay the price when the terrorists "bring it on." I hope we keep that in mind in the coming months and years.
Skyrad 0 #9 October 28, 2003 So true. No one really thinks about what wounded might mean. It covers evrything from a cut to multiple traumatic amputation.
