A piece of art entitled "Sex"

Recommended Posts

Is this art?

Does this art bring to mind sex?

It's a work that's being displayed somewhere in Britain, and it's title is "Sex".

Edited to include caption:

I wonder why the artist thinks a human skeleton would stay more or less intact when hung up like that?

I mean, -shouldn't- it fall apart?

As for it being art and having the title sex . . . it does make (did make) you think, which is about the highest asperation of most art, isn't it?

sorry to bring a serious note - but am actually right now writing an essay on the changing nature of art through the ages, due to the advanced level of crap which is supposedly - challenging our perceptions of what art is, produced in the last 50years - I'm skipping that whole era
but in fairness the art of the chapman brothers, damian hurst, tracey emin - to mention but a few - are all just as hostile and unnerving as this piece

Maybe "well fed lion pride sex", but that's about it. Yipes. Just yipes.

Damn! You figured it out!!! It's supposed to be like one of those abstract things you stare at for hours on end trying to figure out what it is :P I guess if I ever decide to hang it up, I'll have to hang it upside down!
