It drove a wedge between us with her worrying about me spending all my time on my head and me trying to force her to take up freeflying. It's only gonna work if one or both of you is open to adding new things to your repertoire. If you show him that you're willing to learn some basic RW stuff - like closed accordions and kiss passes - then he may be willing to learn some basic freefly stuff - like holding a sit without corking or sliding all over the sky. Doing rodeos with your SO will bring you closer together, as will hybrids. You could also both learn a bit about CRW and go fly together that way... or maybe work on team swooping?
