freeflydrew 0 #1 October 31, 2003 I'm convinced by some of the arguements here about George Bush and his administration, that some people do not read many different news sites offering contrasting global perspectives on current events... Discussions end up as arguements consisting of name calling, and unquoted political jargon (from both standings) I've listed below the news sites I review on a daily basis: CNN New York Times Voice of America World Tribune Arab News BBC News LA Times Google News UN News Center I am very interested to see what news sites you read on a regular basis. Edited because I forgot the UN News Center!

kiltboy 0 #3 October 31, 2003 Daily BBC news Glasgow Herald www.theherald.co.uk Reuters Less common Foxnews Telegraph Independant One thing I like about the beeb is they do offer links to external sources as I'll run around on a search of my own if I'm interested enough in the story. I'll also chase down some of the links posted here in the "debate" David
billvon 3,119 #6 October 31, 2003 Depends what I'm looking for. General news: CNN MSNBC (for fast breaking stuff) LATimes BBC Background: Reuters AP For right wing news: FOX (news) Rush Limbaugh's site (for far right wing opinion) For left wing news: Salon (news) Dan Perkins' site Atrios (for far left wing opinion) General info: Google (note - Google is a good way to find stuff but it is very easy to find stuff that some crank posted, which is why 90% of the time I spend on Google is trying to find independent verification of what someone said.) quade 4 #7 October 31, 2003 http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/ http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/briefings/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/?ok http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/ http://abcnews.go.com/sections/politics/TheNote/TheNote.html http://nytimes.com/pages/politics/index.html http://news.google.com/ That covers the basics. I'll also browse Reuters, ABCNews and the LA Times on my cell phone if I'm not near a good internet connection. Small note on Voice of America. I like listening to it occasionally for the same reason I read the White House news and press briefings, but just understand VoA is our government sponsored party line and not an independent news source.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
