Ciulimo 0 #1 May 22, 2011 Hi I want to attend a skydiving course in a few months and after i'll get my license i would like to buy an RW jumpsuit. I dont want to get in competitions or to make complicated rw maneuvers, just playing around with my friends in free fall. I would like to learn some free fly movements too, again nothing special or too complicated. My question is that a rw jumpsuit will be suitable for some basic free fly movements like backflight, sit position, head down, 360 degrees turns, back loops/front loops, barrel rolls ?? P.S. I would like to buy a Synchro jumpsuit from Parasport, the regular one.
dragon2 2 #2 May 22, 2011 A suit with booties isn't really suitable for freefly. It's fine for front/backloops, barrelrolls, trackingdives and such but for backfly, sit/stand and headdown you'll want something else. In fact you could freefly in streetclothes better than in a RW suit. I wouldn't buy a RW suit without booties either. But all in all, if you haven't started skydiving yet, it's way too early to think about a suit (any suit) just yet. You'll get a suit with your course, and provided you like jumping, you're better off buying some used suits after that. No sense in paying a lot of money for a suit you'll have a good number of bad landings with, IMO. Plus if you buy used, you'll have the budget to buy a suit for each discipline, which will make your life a lot easier. But first, just start skydiving, and see if it's even the sport for you before spending a lot of money ciel bleu, Saskia

I will do a tandem soon to see if this sport fits me but i think im in love with the sky, i have bungee jumped and did a few parasailing sessions, loved the sensations and loved to be in air and now all i can think about its skydiving. Can i ask you why would be better street cloths than an rw suit? Quote Step one - learn to skydive. Step two - don't worry about it, focus on step 1. Ok, ill do that!
