GiaKrembs 0 #51 October 30, 2003 I have lived in So. California for the past 11 years, and up to now it is the best place I've lived. Everything at your fingertips... However if I had the chance to get out of here I'd do it in a heart beat. Too much city sometimes - it eats away at the soul! If I had the resources I'd move to Auckland, NZ without hesitation. Next would be Arizona, primarily because most of my family lives in the Phoenix area. good luck! g Raddest ho this side of Jersey #1 - rest in peace brother Beth lost her cherry and I missed it .... you want access to it, but you don't want to break it. CanuckInUSA 0 #52 October 30, 2003 QuoteWork is over rated anyway. No argument here. But the sad fact is, my current status in the USA is very much dependent on my job. Of course I really should be concentrating on my job right now instead of posting here on DZ.COM ... ... By the way, I'm off to jump in Sebastian this weekend. So who knows? Maybe I'll come back wanting to relocate to FL. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I am not rich, but am always looking for a love slave...tehehehehehe. but that would mean moving to Arizona...oh yeah and lots of daily sacrificing...oh yeah and doing the dishes, I hate doing the dishes... CanuckInUSA 0 #57 October 30, 2003 Quotebut that would mean moving to Arizona... What about moving to CO? Okay, I'm sure the skydiving is better in AZ, but the weather is likely better here (it never gets too cold or too hot). Quoteoh yeah and lots of daily sacrificing...oh yeah and doing the dishes, I hate doing the dishes... Believe it or not, doing the dishes isn't a big deal for me. I'd much rather do them than doing the laundry, vacuuming or have to do yard work. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
sunshine 2 #58 October 30, 2003 QuoteBelieve it or not, doing the dishes isn't a big deal for me. Reminds me of something funny that happened last weekend. My friend (a guy) was in my kitchen and said "you have to do your own dishes? That sucks." He was noticing the dish drainer on the counter. I just thought it was typical for a guy to complain about something like that. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! freeflygoddess 0 #59 October 30, 2003 Well I don't mind vaccuming, laundry, or cooking and we can always pay someone to do the yard work, it always looks better that way anyways. Just he whole moving thing...I have two kids, it would be hard to move them, and plus I do love my DZs here, but what the hey, it will keep you here in the US... jmpnkramer 0 #63 October 30, 2003 QuoteOh yeah and I think dust is better for canopys than lets say...I don't know...maybe...trees!!! I don't know how you fly your canopy but I personally do not land in the trees. Dust is much worse. It ruins there perosity on the canopy very quickly. One other thing. trees are not necessarily that bad. I have seen goofballs get their canopy snagged w/o doing damage. Dust on the other hand always does damage even if you do not land in it. I have never been on an AZ DZ but from all the pics I have seen there is nothing but dust. If there is a grass patch I am sure it is tiny and too many people converging on a small area. If I get to stay in the military and have the opportunity to do MFF then I will see. Laters, KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The REAL KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER! Pammi 0 #64 October 30, 2003 QuoteI wish i was in kansas right now.... No you don't...trust me :) Move to Raleigh :) When Merrick and I were deciding where in the whole US we would go, this is what we picked. DZ's, ocean close-by, bigger city but not too big, decent job market, mountains close too, nice people and Oh, did I say how there are 3 DZ's within driving distance? (besides all the eyecandy at Raeford being military and all!) Pammi
CanuckInUSA 0 #66 October 30, 2003 QuoteHmmmm... could this be a dz.com love connection???? If it is, I'm taking credit for it, cuz I started the post!!!!! When you consider that Kathryn and myself have never met, never talked on the phone, this DZ.COM love connection you speak of may be a little premature. But who knows ... I will be at the Eloy Holiday Boogie and should get an opportunity to meet her then. Of course I'm also in FL this weekend and next weekend in Brush CO they are having cheap $15 jumps for ther girls (sort of like a ladies night affair). But if a love connection does occur, yes you can take the credit. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Ya know what's funny though? They seem to show up rather frequently when the beer light's been on a while...but maybe they're just the 'friendly-type' of girls Talk about short-shorts on the guys tho! bendywendy 0 #70 October 30, 2003 I think they all just want company out there in the desert. I've been told by everyone that I know that has lived there or does live there that while they would love to have more company, and Eloy is kick-ass, that unless you love the desert - don't do it!! They say live somewhere nice and come play with us - unfortunately, my busy season runs the same as Eloy so when they are having their best events I'm stuck here and then when I have time to travel - it's their off season. But that just means I get to meet everyone in neutral territory. Florida has world-class skydiving as well. You can find that in California, AZ, and FL at anytime. Besides, everyone else is just a world-class skydiver in training.
freeflygoddess 0 #71 October 30, 2003 Um, yeah...ok I was makeing a sarcastic remark is all. I have never jumped in a tree, nor have I seen any to know what one is...However, I do know that they hurt, but stay still so I am sure I could avoid one if I had to. Now as far as grass areas at Eloy, there are two, really big ones, and some ponds even...they are pretty...at Coolidge there is some grass, and Buckeye, yeah is all dust and rocks, but still fun...Just a guess, but maybe the reason why canopys don't last as long here, is cause we get a chance to jump the shit out of them everyday....well if we have the money to that is...lol...I know dust is bad but, so is other things, but you have to figure out which is better...jumping everyday, seeing FFG with the downside of dust, or save your canopy from dust and from jumping because it is too cold windy or raining or whatever... skybytch 273 #75 October 30, 2003 QuoteJust a guess, but maybe the reason why canopys don't last as long here, is cause we get a chance to jump the shit out of them everyday. Oh yeah, people don't ever get to jump more than once a day in Florida.... I've seen a lot of used main canopies. Take two identical mains with the same number of jumps on them, one jumped primarily in Florida and one jumped primarily in Eloy and I'll guarantee you that the fabric and lines on the one jumped in Eloy will be in worse condition than the fabric and lines on the one jumped in Florida.
