Gawain 0 #1 November 2, 2003 NO MORE CREDIT CARDS...NO MORE DEBT As of today, I am free and clear of any and all unsecured debt!! Did it in less than a year, compromised some long term savings, but it was worth it. The majority of my savings wasn't impacted but it had to be touched since I hope I'll be able to buy a house/condo/something-with-a-roof next year. The car note is all that is left and depending on the structure of that, I may be able to get that nixxed within 12 months~! What drove me to such madness, pain, sacrifice of jumping for weeks at time? Politics. Plain and simple. I just got mad at what was going on in California, and realized I wasn't living to the standard I was setting for others. Don't get me wrong, debt can be a healthy tool, and everybody uses it to one degree or another, but not necessarily credit cards and that kind of sh*t, which is what was going on in my life anyway. I know that sounds kind of phoofy but that's what it was. Since that's what it took for me to get off my *ss and do it, I won't argue the result anyway. I fell into the "credit" hole almost right away...it's been 16 years of up-down-up-down-etc...bs with a piece of plastic.
