baa75 0 #1 November 4, 2003 Do you jump at Eloy? Do you live near there? Is it really as dead of a place as it seems? I just spoke with Payback462 who happens to be stranded out there. (Till the 21st!) He's there to take the rigging course but that doesn't start till tomorrow and he's already bored! Anyone planning to drop by there in the near future who can relieve his boredom? Maybe help him locate a nearby Wal-Mart or something? BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
bbarnhouse 0 #2 November 4, 2003 It is a bit quiet as we have just come off a boogie and have been afflicted with some "unseasonal" type weather. The season here just started. As to boring...that's all a matter or perception. BB
BikerBabe 0 #3 November 4, 2003 Does he mean the DZ, or the town? Don't go in town. Just don't. It's bad. I'm highly surprised if he's bored at the DZ. Jump man, jump!!!!Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!
AggieDave 6 #4 November 4, 2003 Yeah, every time I've gone to Eloy I've been bored out of my skull...oh, wait, that's just the drive, Eloy kicks ass.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Katzeye 0 #5 November 4, 2003 How can you be bored with the Bent Prop right there?! Is a chicken omelette redundant?
sunshine 2 #6 November 4, 2003 And if the pinball machine is still in the Bent Prop, thats good for hours of entertainment. I may have got a bit addicted to it last year. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!

greybeard 0 #8 November 4, 2003 Eloy is Eloy. not a metropolis. Closest town is Casa Grande, were you can visit George Jicha at the hospital, ( Dr. G Jichca), or go to the local movie theater, tell them you are a skydiver, and admission is free! Tour old indian ruins, visit VW Proving grounds, climb Picacho Peak, ride with a cropduster, (scarry). Trek south to the Desert Museum, Kartchner Caverns, Nogales MX., or north to hub-bub Phx., Sedona, Grand Canyon, etc. My advise would be to grab a cold six pack, find some high ground and wait for the sunset. Relax and enjoy spectacular serenity. Oh, grab an opposite sex partner (or sheep, or whaterever to be PC here) to share the experience. The sunrise is even better! baa75 0 #9 November 4, 2003 Well, he just got in yesterday. So far he said the DZ seems pretty dead. (Remember, he's comparing it to Cross Keys) He has made some pretty cool jumps but the price of the course, flight, room, etc is keeping jumping down a bit. So... going into town is a bad idea but he doesn't have a car anyway. Does it liven up on weekends at least? Any kind of grocery stores around for food to cut down on the $ of buying it on the DZ? BikerBabe 0 #10 November 4, 2003 True, it is early season there, and most of the teams that train there or travel to train there are taking a few weeks off since Nationals just ended. There is a Wal Mart out by the highway in Arizona City, if he can bum a ride with someone.Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup! baa75 0 #11 November 4, 2003 Wow, that sounds like a completely different discription than he gave me. Actually sounds almost...interesting. Oh yeah...his "opposite sex partner" is stuck out here in Philly! If it wasn't for the $$$ flight I'd be out there in a minute! Oddly enough, its actually warmer here than in Phoenix right now! Ha! greybeard 0 #13 November 4, 2003 With a wonderful opposite in Philly, he'd best not know about the wild and crazy parties BB thros each and every night. I'm married, so she won't even tell me where she lives. Darn it all. Us old dudes are relagated to watching sunsets. What I wouldn't give for some of that pixie dust? Of course, I'd have to either call home first or bring my bride along. (Just kidding BB).
