AggieDave 6 #2 November 4, 2003 That goes along with "hey, I bet we could get up and beat that storm front" thinking. Guess what comes before a storm front hits? WIND lots of us, possibly.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

sunshine 2 #11 November 4, 2003 QuoteSebazzzz. dont be foolish... did you at least check the spot? I remember when a certain dzcommer was in charge of checking the spot a few years ago. It was a DC3 load and we were the last group out. After landing 8 miles off the DZ, all he had to say was that he couldn't tell if the spot was good because of the cloud cover. Edited cause i wanted to, so there!! ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!
Sebazz1 2 #12 November 4, 2003 A long time ago when spotting one time the pilot looked back at me and asked with a very serious look on his face if I could see the ground. I smiled and looked back at him and said... "Yes!" I was lieing... We landed off by a mile.

Sebazz1 2 #14 November 4, 2003 more wise words.... If you have over 100 jumps and you exit a plane from 15,000 feet with the purpose of doing a four way RW jump or smaller you should be able to achieve a minimum of 6 points or don't bother pulling... Sebazz1 2 #17 November 4, 2003 naw that was before that... but see when it gets really really really cold you should avoid sticking your head out the door unless you are exiting... hence why i wont stick my head all the way out the door when spotting on really really really cold days
