I remember when a certain dzcommer was in charge of checking the spot a few years ago. It was a DC3 load and we were the last group out. After landing 8 miles off the DZ, all he had to say was that he couldn't tell if the spot was good because of the cloud cover. :)

naw that was before that...

but see when it gets really really really cold you should avoid sticking your head out the door unless you are exiting... hence why i wont stick my head all the way out the door when spotting on really really really cold days:ph34r:
