Zeemax 0 #1 November 8, 2003 So i get up at about 8, take a quick shower, head on over to the DZ. Get some breakfast at the zoo bar, hang out for a bit, see lisa's car, hear the story.. dayum.. My brankd spanking new rig should arrive today... just a question of when.. the few clouds that are in the sky all start to move away, birght blues. Theres lifts going up... i wait a bit.. wait a bit more.... get bored.. Bout 1pm i go get some lunch.. come back with McDonalds and have an interesting intelctual conversation with lisa about the different tastes of McDonalds around the world... just as i'm about to open the bag... THE FREAKING UPS MAN FINALLY ARRIVES!!! i start to hyperventilate, i see him carrying a couple of boxes... are any of them rig shaped?? hmmmm maybe that one... i'm just not sure.. I get called into the drop shop.. my hearts pounding, lisa has to open the box for me, i'm just too excited and may injur myself on sharp things like a knife... she opens it.... HOLY CRAP!!! there in all its beautiful splendour is my new rig, all packed up and ready to go Its a red and white odessy with all the options, with sabre 2 main and a pd reserve and a cypres 2. I nearly came in my pants. Put it on and it fits like a dream.. i'm sooooo chuffed. I go manifest and we're instantly on a 20 minute call. Nice ride to altitude, out i get. Fairly uneventful dive, i just sit and enjoy the view. Pull at 5 so i can have a bit of a play with the canopy. Man i love this sabre 2. It opens like its pampering you. Soooooo soft, i love it! flys really well and was a joy to land. I treat her to a pack job and manifest for the next lift. I have a go at my sit and actully hold it steady for quite some time, then my cheap crappy goggles (now in the bin) came off and really disorientated me. They only flipped up so all i needed to do was pull them back down, but it was still a bitch. Another beautiful opening, bit of a fly around then a really great landing. Go and see lisa and buy some goggles that will ned surgically removing from my face and manifest again. This time i held a really stable sit almost until pull time, i was soooo chuffed The view though was just awesome.. we had a full moon on one side, and the sun setting on the other. Just stunning another good opening, but i fucked up the landing. No biggie, just stacked it. That was it for the day so capped it off with a nice cold one Today definately did not suck todays not sucking was brought to me in association with Skydive sebastion, the ups man, lisa at the drop shop who had to put up with both my eagerness, then excitement (sorry), but most of all Arlo at the skydiving outlet in deland. She absolutely rocks, no question about it at all. If anyone is thinking of buying any gear at all do yourself a favour and buy it from her. The prices are good, but the service is absolutely outstanding. I'm one VERY happy shopper!! Right, time for another beer!!Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies

Zeemax 0 #4 November 8, 2003 shhhh i'm trying to hide the fact i'm dysclexic, and trying to use wendys crappy keyboard that splits all the keys in half... stupid thing... theres nothing wrong with having a few - 10 beers while designing your canopy, it makes it fun and individual... ypelchat 0 #6 November 8, 2003 Congrats on the new rig. Dude, I know how you feel. I just bought my first new rig too, and waited 15 weeks for it to arrive. The Sabre2 is fun to fly and lands very well too. You'll like it for sure. Have fun and stay safe. Yves.
arlo 0 #7 November 8, 2003 yeahhhh!!!!!! i am so happy that you didn't blow a wad in your pants in front of lisa. i'm very glad i could be part of your exciting day. also, mucho thanks to lisa at the drop shop for taking delivery from our gear store. just for the record: alot of folks may thing that gear sales and what not is a cut-throat sorta business. i'm here to tell you that if all business relationships were as good as mine and lisa's, this world would be a happy, happy place. :) it's all about helping each other out. (oh yeah: sonic at the ranch rocks, too). have an outstanding weekend, be SAFE, be especially nice to lisa, and if you're gonna walk around naked in your new stuff, make sure lisa gets a pic for wendy's wall. congrats! arlo p.s. yes, it's perfectly okay to walk around with nothing on but your rig. just make sure you give it a kiss in the morning. Dagny 0 #9 November 8, 2003 Quoteiis it wrong to be walking around naked in a new rig? I knew it!!! Sorry I missed having a beer with you, I was finishing up the packing stuff and getting attacked by frighteningly large and aggresive mosquitoes. Scary stuff, but I'm almost done with my A so it was worth it. I owe beer for jumping my first pack job and if all goes as planned, I'll owe for getting my A next weekend. Hope you are around Sebastian then so you can indulge with me!!! Oh, and be good to your baby....and take pics with her so we can all share!! You looked great under canopy...congratulations!!!! Zeemax 0 #10 November 8, 2003 the bugs were certainly out tonight, which is what i think coontributed to everyone leaving so squickly. I had one beer, during which time the DZ became empty! I still owe the beer, so next time your down i'll make sure i get them in. Maybe we can prod lisa out from the back of the drop shop to enjoy a beer too congrats on your first pack job, i was only teasing about going for silver Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies

I'll be there a week from tomorrow for the weekend...if you're still around, we'll do a couple jumps(freefly, belly fly, whatever), get Lisa drunk, and smack her ass in those Birdman Pantz! Dagny 0 #14 November 8, 2003 Quotecongrats on your first pack job, i was only teasing about going for silver Bwahahaha! I wasn't, though. I swear I checked my handles at least thirty times and even recited in my head "peel n' pull, hook n' punch" because I just KNEW I was going to have a bag lock! I'm happy I didn't, though...and the opening was actually soft. Hey, how did you like that last jump? I spent almost the whole jump admiring the sunset and the light on the clouds then did a 180 to watch the moon over the ocean. Very cool. Anyway, next weekend is all about the beer...and we'll drag Lisa out even if we have to hold her Pantz hostage!!!
