What kind of mouse do you have or perfer?

I have been using a microcrap 5 button optical(corded) for about 2 years now......love the damn thing...maybe because im used to it....but many of my friends still use ball 2 button mouses...drives me crazy to use them....always having to remove the ball and clean the rollers for them because they dont notice that it dosent track properly...no "back button"....other friends have track balls(never could use those insane things)....other friends(programmers) tell me that point and click is the devils work and if you dont know c++..etc, and how to use a keyboard...then get off the comp

I just use an optical one. I kinda understand what you mean... once you get used to using a track wheel, its such a pain in the *ss to use just a plain ol' two button mouse.

optical is the way to go...

however for precision work nothing beats the track ball...(still optical) mechnical mice are the devils work....

I have the same mouse as you, and I love it too. I always end up trying to use the thumb buttons on my mouse at work.

MS is coming out with a newer version of that mouse, the roller wheel will now rotate left and right as well like a joy stick. Don't know how useful it will be, but maybe I can re-assign them to something I use a lot.

This MS mouse has really stood some abuse. I've only had one problem during the 2-3 years I've had it. The wires inside (the mouse cord) broke inside the cable right at the connection point inside the mouse. So I took the mouse apart, resoldered the connections (hardwired, had to cut the connector off), and now it has worked perfectly since.

MS optical trackball. The only way to go! At least the damn thing is always in the same place for my hand and you don't roll off the edge of the mat.

Ok bro how long do you use the computer for.
If you use the mouse more then 4 hours a day you should look at an ergonomic mouse.

My suggestion is if you use the computer for long periods at a time. Do not use a wireless mouse. The batteries that you put in them make them heavy and they put way too much pressure on your wrist.

I use a Logitech wireless optical mouse and keyboard with my Dell. I love both total feedom from chords. The mouse does go through batteries though. I'm on my third set in the mouse but still on the original set in the keyboard.
