KEYS BOOGIE 2003...Holy Cow It Rocked!

Recommended Posts

Well me and the man drove our happy little butts, in the rain down to the Keys on Thursday night. Water was standing everywhere and the clouds were still humming up top but the fun started the minute we pulled into the hotel and saw the likes of SkyVan Rob, CReW dog Keith MacBeth, the one and only Rob Stevens, Harry, Wendy and Kendra. So many smiling:)
We woke Friday morning to the brightest, cloudless blue sky I've ever seen and were EXSTATIC! We got to the airport, one of the first I might add, layed our packing tarp, manifested for first load and waited for the masses to arrive. By about 9am we had first load ready to go and we were off.....

The view....well words almost can't describe the beauty of that place from up above.....It was breath-taking! Lots of pictures and lots of video to prove it!

Landing area was partially under water but that didn't seem to bother to many people - for the most part, the gang was heads up....I am still smiling despite getting rained out Sunday. I made 13 jumps (1 being a first helicopter jump ;) and another being my first beach jump B|) and couldn't have asked for much more. I jumped with all sorts of great people, including the important ones with the video cameras :) so I can't wait to see what gets put together for the Boogie video.

Thanks to everyone who made the event a hit.....From the entire skydive Sebastian crew, the organizers, the Carbones for the yummy eats and all the folks who specifically made MY visit an unforgettable one (Greg, Kate, Rene, Karl, Kazoo, Marco). It was a great event and I can not WAIT for next year! You coming?!?!??!

Here are a few pics I got back so far.....

Heehee, that's our girl! Glad you had a great time, Denise. Thirteen jumps is very impressive with the kind of weather we've been having in FL lately. You got the chopper jump out of the way, next stop is the hot air balloon in Eloy! B|

And now that I did the chopper (and wasn't even skeered :D) I am REALLY anxious for the balloon jump. The chopper was cool just because of the awesome view we had but I am guessing the balloon will be twice as awesome because of the peaceful silence of it. We are SO getting video of that one.....My guy tried like the dickins to fly his still (first time in years) but his "dot" was off a bit so we got lots of feet shots ;)...no worries, I got ALL KINDS OF video.

It was a great weekend....and BTW - thanks for all the "luv" above :P

Oh, I was totally skeered on my first chopper jump. They make you fly with your seatbelt off and no door, you could fall out! :P

Oh, you know I love you, I'm just teasing you. You're a beautiful woman, you should have lots of pictures taken of you. :)

I was more scared at the THOUGHT of the chopped jump because of what I was TOLD....once again, don't believe everything you hear. I did not get that "losing the tummy" falling feeling at all and although I may have had the "death grip" on the seat for the first few minutes, there was too much to see and I relazed without realizing it......Then it was time to jump, over the gorgeous green waters but not only that, I had my big hunky man fall out a second before me and had him to focus on instead of the group rush :)
I can't WAIT for Eloy!

I'm just wondering, how did you exit? I went out on my back and totally got that feeling! In fact, I think Kevin said he heard me scream!

I stood on the strut facing my guy, he fell on his back, I fell on my tummy....and the best part was I didn't even flail. He was surprised and I was smiling with 2 peace signs but got a bit on my side when he snapped the pic......

Well just great, maybe when we go out of the balloon I will feel the falling thing since I won't have a distration - although there will be a camera in my face again and we all know YOU HAVE TO LOOK COOL for the camera....;)

I can't wait to see the boogie video cause I know I have a CHANCE of being on it a few times. OK - wonder if anyone wants to share there Keys Boogie 2003 experience here or am I going to PW my thread with Skymama :P

I need to figure out once I get a memory stick for Greg's camera, how to get some stills off it...

I find it's easier for me to capture stills from my video feed by using my computer. The software I used for my movie, VisualStudio (version 7.x if I'm not mistake) allows me to capture stills as well as a video feed from my camera to my computer. For me using the memory stick is more of a hassle because I still need to get the images from the memory stick to my computer. :S

AAAAHHHH......MARK......I LOVE YOU!

These are some of the best pictures I got of my jumps this weekend. My boyfriend (bless his heart) tried to fly stills and his view finder thingy was off.

I AM SO HAPPY I AM DOING THE HAPPY DANCE AROUND MY DESK.

Thanks for sharing and thanks for the jump. Hope to do it again soon.

BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG HUGS! B|

You should dump him then. ;) But don't come calling to me as my camera sight is totally off and Greg is a better more experienced freeflier than I am. :S
