I did not tell her until the day of my first T-AF. Though she knows I have always been obbsessed with the sky she was QUITE angry about my decision and the fact that I did not even discuss it with her (I was skeered to tell her). I left for the DZ, alone. She showed up an hour later to support me and to watch me make my first jump. The best part, I knew that she would be there. No, she is not passive. She loves me SO much that she would follow me off the end of the world if I asked her to. Oh yeah, she DOES have a great rack. Bonus!!
