in the very late 60's- I was around but don't remember it - may parents and their neighbors would get together for New Years celebrations involving champagne (well Duhhh). Said neighbors had a Siamese cat (named George). Apparently one celebration they decided George should share in the fun - but he wouldn't drink the champagne from his bowl.

Crumbled coctail shrimps to the rescue ... a trail to, and then a few in, the bowl...Voila!!

Now, Siamese cats are not the most docile creatures even when they're NOT drunk but appaently the effect was terriifying. Bouncing off the walls for about 10 minutes, George then crashed hard and slept for the rest of the night.

anyone who gives PURPLE grape juice to a toddler has got to be off their rocker! hehe... colorless, stainless liquids only! I know my folks thought white grape juice was the best thing since sliced bread.
