ifics 0 #1 November 12, 2003 Good idea or not? Because there is no seal on the bottom does the wind bother you're eyes during freefly? I have a couple pairs of goggle's but they are all just to big around. I am looking for something a little bit sleaker. Any ideas on dis?

johnny1488 1 #4 November 12, 2003 Mine are OP that I think blow gators away, and they are only $15. But then again, thats with my face. I love my glasses. When I've jumped w/ no helmet, they havent budged a bit. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Mike Rome

b1jercat 0 #6 November 12, 2003 I waited until I had about a hundred jumps or so before switching to sun glasses. I don't know about anybody else, but my eyes tear up if I look down. One thing to look out for when trying sun glasses is if you can push the frames at the bridge of your nose until the lens interfere with your eyelids, chances are it will happen in freefall too. good luck blues jerry
kansasskydiver 0 #7 November 12, 2003 i used to wear a $5 pair of glasses i found at target, then my cute nephew was trying to be like his big uncle and put them on upside down and pulled on the sides and broke them. I haven't been able to find another pair, but he was so damn cute trying to be like me that i really don't care if i ever find the same pair again<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist! ifics 0 #8 November 12, 2003 The good thing about the pair he put a link to is the foam it says it has. Might help to cut down on the wind coming through. I am going to order them and give them a shot. I will post about it when I try them out.

freeflyfree 0 #10 November 12, 2003 never tryed before, so tell me, how do you fasten them to your head...regualr croakies or do you take off the arms that sit on the ears and make holes in the frame and attach a bungee cord?-- Blue Skies NO FEARS, NO LIMITS, NO MONEY... Aviatrr 0 #11 November 12, 2003 I wear sunglasses for all types of jumps.....RW, Birdman, freefly(HD, sit, stand), whatever. Never had a problem with 'em. My eyes don't tear up at all(and I have very sensitive eyes since I had Lasik a few years back). I have to wear sunglasses or dark goggles when the sun is in full effect since my eyes are very sensitive to light. Try it. Just make sure you have a strap to keep them held tightly to your face so they don't flutter at high speeds. Mike Edited to add: I wear whatever type of sunglasses that fit good on the ground. I've used Oakleys, Gatorz, Rayban...and a couple generic types. Just make sure you get ones that block UVA AND UVB rays.
NoPush 0 #12 November 12, 2003 I jump in PredatorII Ray Bans that I steamed to wrap my face..........They are tight in my boomerang helmet, but hug my face with just a crokie less the hemet .......Do a hop with out if you want to see what would happened if they ditched......it's windy eh! bmcd308 0 #17 November 12, 2003 I have the same ones as John, and mine are fine for belly but let too much wind by when I sit. So it's all about the shape of your face. ---------------------------------- www.jumpelvis.com
Brains 2 #18 November 12, 2003 I wear a pair of Oakley Minutes. Oakley used to make a strap that replaced the rubber on the ear pieces and it works great for me regardless of flying position. (i have them on in my avatar) They don't fit under my camera helmet though. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
vdschoor 0 #19 November 12, 2003 I have a pair of normal Bolle sunglasses, they are plastic and are pretty close to my face under my camera helmet. The little wind that comes through doesn't bother me, not even in a sit. Can't say anything about head down as I can't fly in that position (yet) Iwan
turtlespeed 226 #20 November 12, 2003 Gators here, and you can have them under a cam helmet too.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
flyangel2 2 #21 November 12, 2003 I don't like to wear sunglasses when I jump. I want the other people that I'm jumping with to see my eyes. vdschoor 0 #22 November 12, 2003 I only fly with sunglasses when I do camera. When I do RW I wear a full face without sunglasses. In RW I do like to see peoples eyes. Iwan

airann 1 #24 November 12, 2003 Agree with Marks. I fly with my Gatorz on. I have 2 pair of reg lens and one pair they made me with yellow lens for sunset loads. I think they sell them with yellow option these days. I once had a pair of blue lens, but traded with Raymond so the lens would match his blue mohawk. I have never have had problem one with wind or moving while freeflying. I dont use a backup cord dealie either. The rubber ends pull my hair and I am tender headed. FYI, I have 2 bonehead helmets that just somehow work with my Gatorz. I have Rx goggles, smoke lens and yellow lens because I need glasses for judging distance. I hated them. My other friend doesnt wear his glasses either and we both judge flare time by various stationary objects on the ground. My friend with contacts frequently looses one or two. During one day jumping with him he lost 4. ~AirAnn~
BlackholeSon 0 #25 November 12, 2003 I use a pair of Oakley Switchblades with my mindwarp. The mindwarp keeps them from flying off my face. I also use smoked flexvision goggles from time to time, but they fog up occasionally.---------- Here's to cheating, stealing, fighting, and drinking. If you cheat, cheat death.
