Am I a freak?

I seem to remember an incident during the Jump for the Cause Women's world record jumps. In the end, there was a report which stated that double jointedness could have contributed to the fatal incident.

Apparently, IIRC the condition that allows double jointed joints, can also cause weak connecting tissue between arteries and organs.

yes i remember all that as well. I have no problems reaching my hacky as its my left shoulder thats messed up. i don't know about the weak connecting tissue though.

I can totally do that. I do not have a picture, but I have attached part of a recent pic of my shoulder blade sneakily sticking out when I was relaxed. Just think of how far that little blade could stick out if trying! :o (Wings?)

I am not double jointed or anything like that, and I cannot do any strange things with my joints like you can. I can, however, inhale enough to make my tummy completely concave and have all my ribs stick out until my mid-region looks like it belongs to a skeleton.

I think that I have unusually large ribs and shoulder blades for my body. They protrude all the time. My hips are tiny, but they protude, also. It's weird. It's not because I am "skinny"...I have plenty of meat on my bones! Anyhoo, if you are a freak, then so am I.

I believe in this case, the lady had a hard opening and they speculate that the weak connecting tissue may have cause the aorta to seperate form the heart.
