The sport that is 'extreme ironing' is an outdoor activity that combines the danger and excitement of an 'extreme' sport with the satisfaction of a well pressed shirt. It involves taking an iron and board (if possible) to remote locations and ironing a few items of laundry. This can involve ironing on a mountainside, preferably on a difficult climb, or taking an iron skiing, snowboarding or canoeing. samhussey 0 #2 November 15, 2003 There was a documentary on extreme ironing last year over here, with the world championships on it too. The UK team won (of course!) but I don't recall a USA delegation. This clearly needs to be rectified. There was some extreme stuff going on, but in the end it was the quality of the ironing that won it for us! See also the less attractive offshoot that is "Extreme Hoovering"... Ironing is not one of the most exciting things to do in the world. I guess they have to take it to the extreme to get any excitement out of it.I'm so funny I crack my head open!
