sunshine 2 #240 July 17, 2003 QuoteWhy? I have heard it gets cold but is it really that bad? It is really that bad. I lasted about 2 hours in a tent before i had to move into the bunkhouse. And pack warm clothes and gloves. Once the sun sets it is freezing. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! vt1977 0 #241 July 17, 2003 You're worrying me now... I was planning on having an airbed, two bodies (mine and my boyfriend's, not just any two bodies! ) in the tent, fleece sleeping bag liner and a couple of warm sleeping bags each. I've been ok like this in England in December before... D'ya reckon I should start thinking about a hotel/motel? If so, any recommendations? Vicki
SkymonkeyONE 4 #242 July 17, 2003 If you have an airbed, two warm bodies, all the covers in the world and a tent that does NOT leak on you in the morning when the sun hits the ice, then you MAY consider camping. But let me tell you, if you have to get out of that damn tent in the middle of the night to hit the porta potties, you are going to freeze your ass off! It was VERY cold last year. bbarnhouse 0 #243 July 17, 2003 QuoteHey B2, I was wondering..am I still booked in one of the team rooms? I dont know where we spoke abou tthis and with 233 posts I really dont wanna look for it! Yes JT you have a slot in the team room. I have 4 slots left if anyone is interested. The Super8-Eloy is the host motel. I suggest that since the vendors will also be using the Super8, that you make your reservations early. You must tell them you are from dropzone.com to receive the special rate. These rooms are sold by roomrate and not by occupancy. (That means you can put a lot of people in them) PM me for the number and rates. An entire post regarding the boogie will be placed in the PUB as the event comes closer. I DO NOT suggest sleeping in a tent. The desert is extremely cold, and we do get frost. There are several options for you to choose from. Super8, Team Rooms or bunk house. Cheers! BB edited to say...sorry My MonkeyOne but I did offer to let ya stay with Tango
VanillaSkyGirl 6 #244 July 17, 2003 I just reserved a Super 8 room for the Eloy New Year (31st, 1st & 2nd). I am sooo excited! So far, I am going to Arizona alone, and I am proud of myself for having decided this. I have already jumped alone at new locations, so it shouldn't be a problem. I am sooo looking forward to many firsts and meeting many friends on this trip!
