Glipazide 0 #1 November 21, 2003 Well no job really now except for some IT work I have on the side. I worked for Trane as a welder and all the big jobs like a HVAC system for the Pentagon is finished. Since the work force seems so slow I was thinking I should sign up for the Army. I am 27, 2 kids and a awesome wife. She supports me 100% in my decision and I have all trust in her. 92R is my 1st choice of MOS. I think i will enjoy that and its something new. I live about 45 mins from Ft. Bragg and It would be awesome if i could get stationed there but my luck isn't that good it seems. I know there are alot of military and ex-military here and would love some feedback. Thanks in advance, Clint S.http://sexygirlabs.com/url]
Hooknswoop 19 #2 November 21, 2003 If you want to join the military, join the Air Force. Simply visit any Army Base, then visit any Air Force base, you'll see what I mean. Derek
kai2k1 0 #3 November 21, 2003 I would agree with Hook, If you join anything join the Air Force. I was army for 4 years and had the chance to see how the Air Force guys had it. If you are going to enlist, choose the Air Force. There's no truer sense of flying than sky diving," Scott Cowan
Lee03 0 #4 November 21, 2003 While I fully support the military, I would like to caution you about this. You have a wife and two kids. E-1 through E-5 don't make allot of money. Military is extreamly hard on a family. Many E-1 through E-5 are on food stamps or are elegible for them. You don't really make enough money in the service to be married until you reach E-6. You will be deployed constantly, spend long periods of time away from family. Base housing ain't that great. Benefits are rapidly disappering. I'd think long and hard before I made that commitment! IF you were single i'd say go for it, but with a wife and two kids, I'd advise against it! BTW, I say this as a retired veteran of 20 years military service!-------- To put your life in danger from time to time ... breeds a saneness in dealing with day-to-day trivialities. --Nevil Shute, Slide Rule
