smiles 0 #1 November 21, 2003 What do you do with your gear while travelling on your skydiving holidaze? A couple of skydivers from my d.z. were in Hawaii less than 24 hrs. (just leaving d.z.) and stopped at the beach by polo field on Farrington Hwy. Huleiwa -with all their gear locked in trunk- when they returned to car it had all been stolen. Any suggestions on what you would do? Sure sucks major- cannot figure what could be done with it besides sold hot to skydiver or attempt to sell at a d.z. One set of gear is posted here in Stolen gear database under containers: Mirage G3 black with green tye dye, silver trim/like new/ tempo 120 reserve and heatwave 120 main/ cypres/ bonehead/ freefly suit. The other set of gear was just purchased completely before leaving- brand spanking new (Mirage) SMiles
flyhi 24 #2 November 21, 2003 Quotethe beach by polo field on Farrington Hwy. a.k.a. the nude beach, or at least it has been QuoteHuleiwa I think it's Mokuleia They had the same thing happen there once when they were doing water training at the beach. Other than tell the police, not a lot you can do. Might offer a reward at the DZ to contact them if they hear anything. Highly doubtful anyone out there will jump it if it is known to be stolen. Had a friend cutaway out there and get reimbursed a portion from his home owners insurance. His canopy turned up about a year later. Some guy found it and threw it in his garage because he didn't know what else to do with it.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.
