manifestbitch 0 #1 November 18, 2003 Hey guys! So, I've officially been in Colorado for 9 days though it seems more like 9 months. I'm still trying to find a job which has proved to be much more difficult than I imagined. grrrr, stupid bad economy. I haven't made it to any of the dz's yet, i think they're about to shut down for the winter anyway, so maybe in spring. I've been bored out of my mind most of the time I've been here, i know 2 people here and they work ALL the time, consequently, i stare at the walls a lot. I don't have internet or television at the house, i do have a battery powered tape player with a busted speaker. so, yeah, i'm having a blast. I found a bar here that's Aggie owned and opperated, spent some time there sunday night...then drunk dialed Evilsteve lol, that was interesting. So, anyway, just wanted to stop in and say hi! souleh 0 #2 November 18, 2003 Hi there, Sounds like you're having fun! Sounds like living here in Cornwall - cold (though not as bad as there), very wet, windy and boring! I'm sitting in a lecture right now, patiently letting the lecturer ramble on about Internet ISPs and connections.. not that I don't do that for my job! Argh, the boredom! I feel for you! Nick. AggieDave 6 #3 November 18, 2003 QuoteI found a bar here that's Aggie owned and opperated Awsome. Go there tonight, its important. Sounds like you need to actively persue meeting people, you won't meet anyone if you're just sitting around the house.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." manifestbitch 0 #4 November 18, 2003 Yes, i think you're right dave. But my first priority is to find a job, if I can't find one in the next week or so, i think i'm going to be forced to come back home. Plus, job = meeting people, so i am actively looking for a job...does that count? :)
skydyvr 0 #5 November 18, 2003 Cold? It hasn't yet been "cold" here on the Front Range part of Colorado . . . YET! QuoteI'm still trying to find a job which has proved to be much more difficult than I imagined. The job market has been getting better here, and I hope that translates into good fortune for you! QuoteI haven't made it to any of the dz's yet, i think they're about to shut down for the winter anyway, so maybe in spring. Brush and Longmont operate all year round, weather permitting -- hope to see you at one of them some time. . . =(_8^(1)

QTPi 0 #8 November 18, 2003 Hey Amanda!!! I really do hope you find a job soon, but I wouldn't hate it if you came back to Texas!! CanuckInUSA 0 #9 November 18, 2003 QuoteI haven't made it to any of the dz's yet, i think they're about to shut down for the winter anyway, so maybe in spring. Not true. We may not jump all 52 weeks of the year, but we do jump all 12 months of the year. The threshold seems to be 40 degrees F. If the ground temps are above 40, then people seem to show up at the DZ (assuming the skies are clear which they often are) and if the ground temps are below 40, then not that many people seem to show up at the DZ. QuoteSo, anyway, just wanted to stop in and say hi! Hi ... Don't be a stranger. Come on out to Mile-Hi and/or Brush. This way you'll get to know some of us CO jumpers and it'll make doing things together easier. I'm in Boulder and Fort Collins is about an hour away, so it's not always easy to visit. But Fort Collins is a neat place with some neat bars. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
freeflir29 0 #10 November 18, 2003 Are you sure you didn't mean Cleveland instead of Colorado? Sounds a lot like Cleveland lately.
Perky77 0 #11 November 19, 2003 awww Buck up little buddy, Go become a regular at a bar, they will offer you a job.....trust me that is what they do when you can't pay your tab. Patman 0 #12 November 19, 2003 Hey you! I've seen you manifest, and I don't think you want me to go there!!! You can come to Wisconsin and have ALL of my jobs if you want them! Won't pay much, but you'll be busy!!I like to see your Texas family giving you good advice, like Perky. The bar always needs good looking help to boost sales! Or at least get paid for what they have already served you. You should just go yell at someone that has no idea who you are, it will make you feel better.Or I could always do it for you! Don't tell me I can't! I already know that! Haven't you seen my x-rays?
turtlespeed 226 #13 November 19, 2003 Sshe is such a sweetheart though - Bar life for her just wouldn't fit. She just needs to carry her ass back here so we can take care of her.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
skycat 0 #14 November 19, 2003 What kind of job are you looking for. My company is hiring, so if there would be a fit I'd be more than happy to put in a good word for you. Also, I have Mondays and Tuesdays off and have a couple of other hobbies that can be done during the week. I live north of Denver, and I can drive up to Fort Collins once in a while. If you wanted to spend some time in Denver I have a couch you can crash on if you don't mind the dog the cat and all the rigging crap all over the place.Fly it like you stole it! Patman 0 #15 November 19, 2003 True, true. She did look at "home" at Aggieland. Besides, if she doesn't like the weather in CO, she would definately have a problem with our ever changing WI weather. Don't tell me I can't! I already know that! Haven't you seen my x-rays?
