jceman 1 #2 November 21, 2003 QuoteHas anyone seen it yet? What did you think? I keep hearing mixed reviews. You keep hearing mixed reviews? I've seen several reviews, and the only mix is the extent to which they pan the movie and castigate the director. Like they say, what does Paris Hilton have in common with Dr. Suess? Or a rave? or extraterrestrial "goop"? Be afraid, be very afraid. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them? skyesspot 0 #3 November 22, 2003 There were some by viewers and more than half liked it. It seems they either loved it or really hated it. Life is too short. Don't sweat the small stuff.
hungarianchick 0 #4 November 22, 2003 The only website I go for movie reviews is rottentomatoes.com. They have always been accurate, but that's my opinion. I always read the review of a particular movie I'm interested in first. If the "tomatometer" says FRESH, I go and see it, If it says ROTTEN, I wait for the DVD. Unfortunately the Cat In The Hat was rated very ROTTEN. Sorry! "I love cooking with wine. Sometimes I even put it in the food."
crapflinger2000 1 #5 November 22, 2003 I have a Hungarian friend named Mark. He has a Hungarian wife named Melinda. Do you know them? __________________________________________________ What would Vic Mackey do?
Deuce 1 #6 November 22, 2003 In the preview, I was really put off by the Cat opening up the picture of the kids mom, and having it be what was supposed to be a nude centerfold, and the Cat getting all wound up watching it, with the kids able to see it too. Some of the other stuff looked pretty funny, but from what I've read, they tried to make it both a true adult comedy, and a kid film at the same time. I can't think of a bawdy kids movie that worked since the original Bullwinkle cartoons. Anyhow, there is an interesting write up of Dr. Seuss here http://www.nationalreview.com/miller/miller200311210832.asp which has some funny observations about how Dr. Seuss was subversive. I love all the Seuss books, and wish that this film had been done by Pixar. The "Finding Nemo" folks really know how to make a movie the whole family can enjoy.
