skyyhi 0 #1 November 24, 2003 Hey all, I got in level 2 and three this weekend. Two was good but had a pretty good biff on landing (trouble with flare). Three (release dive) was absolutely awesome. . .once my instructors released me and I was on my own, I felt absolutely fabulous. . .It was so nice to stay on heading and hold steady in the air. . .what an absolutely great feeling. . .landing still rough and didn't pass because I couldn't find my handle to pull so one of my jumpmasters did it, but not a bad day for me. . .I loved it. . . Oh, and if I wasn't hooked before, I am definitely hooked now. . .today was awesome. . .________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy

VanillaSkyGirl 6 #5 November 24, 2003 Like I said in my other post, I am so proud of and happy for YOU!!! Congrats, girl! You are doing a great job, and, for a student, you seem to be very comfortable with the idea of jumping out of a plane. LOL! Passing everything on the first try is not what is important. What you gain with each jump...the utter joy, perfection of physical skills and mental comfort/ease at the thought of jumping out of a plane are what is truly important. You seem way ahead of most students when you look at the big picture. Skydiving is a largely mental activity. Celebrate tonight!
skyyhi 0 #6 November 24, 2003 Thanks all. . . I am not at all worried or concerned about not passing level 3. . .I know what I did wrong and know how to correct it. . .The funny thing is I was having so much fun in the freefall that I really didn't want it to end. . .Yeah, getting out the door is still nerve wracking, but instantly, once I am out I am so glad I jumped. . .Thought that feeling would take a few more jumps. . .it is absolutely incredible.________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy

Islandcool 0 #8 November 24, 2003 Ahem.... *Cough**Cough** Landing on 3***Cough** LOL So Darcy is my roommate and I've been thinking of a nickname for her... Well on that last landing there could have been several. Still trying to decide on "Turtle" Or "Crouching Tiger" I like the Turtle thing better. lol She did a fine job on her jumps tho. Her instructors said she did great. I've been watching her though all of this and she has a good head on her and a great sense of awareness. Now if she would just clean my bathroom....
