Will the attacks stop in Israel?

Recommended Posts

Isreali PM Ariel Sharon has promised a Palestinian State if the bombings and attacks stop and they dismantle their armed groups.

I don't think the attacks will stop. They'll probably slow down for a bit until the truly extreme get them going.

I do believe that there are some who want a Palestinian state less than they want Israel destroyed. I don't see this as being a solution to the problem, since I don't think the attacks will ever stop.

Therefore, mark me as Poll Option 3.

Things like this usually have one of two effects. Either they slow down or intensify. Usually the more radical elements on both sides start doing whatever they can to derail any agreement between the leadership. Sometimes there is a lull in the action. Who knows with all those nut cases. [:/]

There is no Palestinian state. What do you do with all the Palestinians in Israel? Toss them into Syria?

or simply give back Palestina back their space... sadly you see this war were Isreal fights(helped by USA and others),some poor people that livede at the place first... well i do understand why people are mad down there...B| It dont give them the right to fight the war the way they do... but neither do it the way Isreal do it...

***And if we didn't support them, hypothetically, would we not be then branded as anti-semites?

First of all, the term anti-semitism refers to a language spoken by people of the middle east, so when we say someone is an anti-semite it doesn't only mean they're against jews, other arabs are included too. Secondly, if we do not agree with Israel's policies we are not anti-semites simply on those grounds. Israel shouldn't be allowed to kill/oppress people just because the jews were on the receiving end of that for the last few thousand years. How about some elementary morality?

The attacks wil not stop! Those people have been fighting each other..and hating each other's guts for almost as long as time has begun. They will stop fighting each other when THEY get ready too. No nation is going to impose peace of them.. if they want peace THEY, themselves will be the ones to bring it about!

I've been pretty outspoken on this in the past. The attacks will not stop for any extended period of time. Hamas or Islamic Jihad will break any cease fire with misguided pride. There will be no progress in the co-existence of Isreal and a Palestinian state until Hamas and Islamic Jihad are eliminated, and Arafat removed. Icing on the cake would be if Israel would stop building settlements for a little while, but that should not be a concession to stop the attacks. [:/]
