airgord 1 #78 August 29, 2002 I can't believe that anyone would pass up living in the beautiful metropolis of Eloy AZ. Sure LA has Perris and Elsinore, two really nice DZ's but who would'nt like to live in the stark, farmer ravaged then abandoned desert?? I mean really!!! Sure LA has probably the best night life this side of Paris France, but hey, we have the Bent Prop, a world renowned eatery and bar. And where else can you get rip roaring drunk then challenge the rest of the drunks to a rousing game of drunk volleyball, sure you should'nt play barefoot because of the DZ cats are always in the sand leaving little kitty landmines but you don't even notice if you keep your shoes on. Can Perris boast of the desert toads that come out at night to eat crickets? Sure you have to watch your step after dark, but I'll bet they have to watch where they step in LA what with all the dog crap on the sidewalks. I just don't understand it, LA over Eloy. Muenkel 0 #87 August 29, 2002 QuoteAnd the winner is: Muenkel! That's right. I'll be in the City of Angels for a while! So, where's my t-shirt? Seriously, I already purchased a Dropzone.com T-shirt some months ago, so I would like to donate it to somebody. Would you send it to Drewfus McDoofus? Since he was so seriously injured recently, I think it might help to cheer him up a bit and let him know that dz.com is thinking about him. Thanks. _________________________________________ Chris

narcimund 0 #98 August 29, 2002 QuoteI was just thinking about him and wondering how he was doing, does anyone know anything new on his recovery? Cross-posted from another thread: I don't think anyone's mentioned it, but Drew has been back out at the dropzone recently. He was at Eugene Skydivers last Saturday. He says he's been healing far faster than the doctors expected. He attributes that to having been in really good shape before the accident. He's now up and walking, although with a cast on one leg. His scars are horrific, but his body is back together enough that he looks like good old Drew. I'm glad to report that his spirits are high, he's enthusiastic about jumping again in a few more months, and it's a pleasure to see a strong will overcome adversity. If only more people had a fraction of the strength Drew is showing, they'd live their lives instead of seeking out pity. Good going, Drew. I admire you.
