Muenkel 0 #1 November 24, 2003 I figured you folks would come up with some great ideas. Brief story: Suffered a brain injury on Aug. 16th. I am unable to work due to many reasons. In fact, as of my last check up on Thursday, it appears to be a minimum of 8 more weeks. Anyway, my boss decided he was going to fill my position after 90 days (the minimum required by law) which was Nov. 17th. I really don't blame him since an empty chair does them no good. But since I worked for them for 6 years, always getting a fantastic annual review, I think I deserve to have a little fun with this. I noticed my job is now posted on the internet (ofcourse for considerably less money). I'm trying to think of ways of fucking with them like sending a whole bunch of bogus resumes with fictional phone numbers. Would this be mean? I do have plenty of time on my hands right now. Any devious ideas would be appreciated. Chris _________________________________________ Chris

quade 4 #9 November 24, 2003 Quote Did I tell you that the new boss is a complete asshat and noone in the office likes him? Of course, you've just described 80 percent of all bosses in all offices. The best advice I can give is you -don't- screw with them, no matter how tempting. No matter how temporarily good it may feel, it is ultimately a waste of time and energy. If you can somehow become very successful and rub their faces in it, then that is perhaps the best revenge you can hope for.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
vid666 0 #10 November 24, 2003 just be an adult and let it go. You boss is not your girlfriend and is not supposed to be faithful "till death do you part". You know the saying "business is business" ??? I am sure the boss wasn't thinking "how do I screw him" - just filling a position that needed to be filled in order for the enterprise to function properly. I say this having no idea what you do, but figuring that you work in a moderate to big size environment. don't take this as a flame, it's just lately I have been noticing more and more people thinking that work is never fair - well, take a look at the unions - many of them are doing nothing but extorting money out of corporations and forcing them into bankrupcies. I can go on forever :(, this is a very personal topic for me. paul
LivingInClip 0 #11 November 24, 2003 No offense - but in a previous thread, you mentioned how you wa not bitter and understood them letting you go - why the sudden change of heart? Let it go. Jobs come and go. No offense, of course.

sunshine 2 #13 November 24, 2003 Are you sure he can legally do that after 90 days? You should fall under FMLA which i think is good for 6 months. You might wanna check on that to be sure. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!

fasterfaller 0 #15 November 24, 2003 I would fuck with them big time . If the ex-boss was that much of an ass I would get a friend to interview with the company and go off on the asshole boss and make him look bad in front of the whole office . After all a bad boss does not need a job making good workers unhappy .

flyangel2 2 #19 November 24, 2003 QuoteAnyway, my boss decided he was going to fill my position after 90 days (the minimum required by law) which was Nov. 17th. I really don't blame him since an empty chair does them no good You said it right there. You don't blame him. Did you expect him to just leave your job open till you could come back? Yes, it's sad that you have lost your job due to being injured, but there are other jobs out there. Sure, it may take some time to find something else, but why waste the time and energy messing with your boss, when you could use the energy for good? Use that energy to get positive vibes flowing through your body to help you heal. If you hold the anger and hate inside, that's going to slow down your process of getting better. Also, it's bad karma. Be good to yourself, and heal well.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. eeneR 3 #20 November 24, 2003 QuoteYou should fall under FMLA If I remember correctly FMLA laws state that you are guarenteed your position for 90 days, then they can replace you, then they are required to give you a equal job for a year. skybytch 273 #21 November 24, 2003 I worked in parts at a GM dealer some years ago. Started as a stock clerk, ended up working the counter after teaching myself the catalogs (and the manager quitting, leaving them short one counterperson). I was good enough at it that they left me alone to run the department for a week while the manager got trained on a new computer system - meanwhile I was teaching myself the new computer system and handling all the work. A couple of weeks later they found an experienced counterman. They couldn't afford him and me (even though they were paying me half of what a parts counterperson generally makes). So they made up an excuse and fired me. A month before Christmas. I was tempted. Sorely tempted. I had several most excellent revenge plans thought out, complete with Hayduke security measures. The best one was tossing eggs over the fence onto the shiny new Caddy's. But I didn't do it. Thought about it every time I drove past the dealership - even when I was back in the area to visit friends after living elsewhere for 7 years I thought about it. Would have felt good - in the moment - to toss those eggs over the fence.... but I'm glad I refrained from doing so. I left there with class, even though they treated me like crap. Think about it - sure. It feels good to think about how you could jack them. But don't do it. You have too much class to sink that low.

Muenkel 0 #23 November 24, 2003 I owe you folks an apology. When I posted this thread, what I was really looking for were really creative and funny ways to get revenge. I have no intention of actually getting revenge and I am looking forward. I was actually looking to see what funny things you folks would come up with. I feel horrible that so many of you took this seriously and cared enough to give sound advice. Ironically though, you have helped me because even though I am bummin (not majorly so) you've pointed out things I never thought of. So in a roundabout way you all have helped. For that I thank you. Cool people here. Blue skies, Chris _________________________________________ Chris
