AggieDave 6 #1 September 24, 2002 An English class I'm in this semester requires poetry composition, its been a while since I've done this, although it used to be a common thing in my life (writting poetry). Anyways, what should I write about? Skydiving! ) "AOT 14-way Hybrid" Rushing to the dirtdive rig only on a shoulder jumpsuit and gear in my arms planning how the dive will go The whine of the turbine engines the smell of Jet-A as the plane approaches Tailramp drops, 32 people rush aboard taking seats, cramming in closer and closer looking for seatbelts the smell of sweat in the still air fills the cabin Rolling to the runway Windup, rolling, faster, FASTER TAKE OFF! At 2,000 feet, Pablo hanging out the door watching the world go by, falling farther below the plane 14,000 feet, stand up, time to get ready form up, red light turns on warning us of jump run Green Light! first group leaves, we're next 12 on the tail ramp, 3 in the base taking grips for the exit Ready, Set, Goooo 12 people out the door running after, diving off the ramp like the plane is the highest high-dive known to man Base building below me 2 people flying belly to earth Ramon drops as the hanger, holding on to the belly flier's chest straps the hybrid is built, the base is there Sit-fly, stand Screaming towards the base as fast as I can Stop and I'm there, sit-flying with the formation Looking around, sun setting in the clouds 14 freefliers in a hybrid at sunset beauty and inner peace known known only to those in the skies --David Lund "HeadDown" Slow 15 Minutes Hot Even with a breeze RUSH Door opens Cooler Air throughout Count Ready, Set, GO and we are gone speed Headdown transition, oppenheimer off the hill, screaming head first towards the ground Speed Cartwheel, Sitfly, feet towards earth, dock, spock, mindwarp, hands on each other's heads SPEED cartwheel, headdown, flower, carve, BEEP Breakoff Track away, Beep Beep, time to deploy flare, stop, pull the pilot chute and my canopy emerges Quiet-peace Turning, Diving, Rushing faster and faster to the ground SPEED Punch the Toggles, just inches from the ground, forward flight Swoop Carving along the ground Swoooooop Finish the flight, touch down and stop And people wonder why the birds sing --David Lund--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Paige 0 #3 November 27, 2003 Here are two poems I wrote about skydiving (I) and my guy (II) but they actually came about through a pack of stickers. Some of the words in the poem are stickers (all caps) and I picked the words out at random and made the poem around them. No titles yet so they are numbered. I. For those who DARE TO DREAM, There are NO LIMITS. IMAGINE the OPPORTUNITY To SOAR through the atmosphere. LIVE IT UP and dare to be ALIVE, Reach for the SUN and have The ground be the only LIMIT. The SERENITY above Is IRRESISTIBLE and can INSPIRE the soul. II. BELIEVE in yourself and LOVE without hesitation. TOGETHER you can SUCCEED At love and enjoy your KISSES. PEACEFUL flights and SUNSHINE Spoil those who REACH For the clouds and their DREAMS. I'm drunk so I hope these translated correctly. I'll check em tomorrow morning before the family turkey day just to make sureTunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
