Brian425 0 #1 November 27, 2003 With conflicting schedules and distance separating us I was not able to spend Thanksgiving with my family. I truly missed them; but, I had a great Thanksgiving anyway. My girlfriend and I had a naked Thanksgiving dinner of Turkey Chilli, rice and some Turkey stir fry. We lounged in bed until almost 1:00 PM, watched football together and did not have to deal with any traffic. I called everyyone to wish them happy thanksgiving and now we are about to relax with some wine and a movie. It's really nice to take some time to truly relax and be with that one special person. The only time you should look down on someone is when you are offering them your hand.
TribalTalon 0 #2 November 28, 2003 lol.. my thanksgiving was very strange. my grandfather is not religious at all, and very very irate. so when we're all sitting there about to say grace, he's like, "god damn it!!!" hurry the hell up so i can eat!" then when my cousin started sayin grace, my grand father was like okay thats enough good job boy lets eat and started eating his food. half the people *including me* just started laughing and the other half, the religious zealots were just mortified. what a bizarre thanksgiving.. as usual. *sarcastic tone* boy i cant wait for christmas dinner */sarcastic tone*
Brian425 0 #3 November 28, 2003 You have to love the old timers. I have a friends whos grandfather used to ask all our girlfriends to come sit on my lap. I loved him he was a dirty old man and he knew it. He just laughed and said what are they going to do to him, just say no. jumpinfarmer 0 #4 November 28, 2003 My great uncle used to say grace by saying (Lord we came to this land, plowed it planted the crops, frought the weather, brought in the harvest, all on our own but we thank you anyway.)
indyz 1 #5 November 28, 2003 I found out that dipping white turkey meat in melted butter with a little bit of pepper tastes fantastic. The 7 heart attacks I had between grace and clearing the table were somewhat less fantastic.

ACMESkydiver 0 #9 November 28, 2003 I am sooooooo envious of your Thanksgiving, Brian!! My hubby and I had the in-laws, some friends, etc, etc....like we always do...bicker bicker the separated couple, nag, family feud, scene from divorce court, kids yelling 'she hit me' 'he pulled my hair'....'don't give your son that it'll make him sick'...grrr......like it always is. I'm thankful that holidays are infrequent!!! I wish I could be MIA for Christmas...~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. VanillaSkyGirl 6 #11 November 28, 2003 I finished a huge, awesome meal with my family a few hours ago. I couldn't sleep, so I was post whoring and eating a huge bag of chips. (Not my first tonight...I eat a lot.) Anyway, I just laughed so hard at the last four posts that I launched a piece of my chip right towards the screen! That said, I think that Brian's Thanksgiving with his girlfriend sounded GREAT!!! Happy T-Day, all! I had TG meal around 2:00, slept till 7:00, went to see the Cat in the Hat (again, this time with family), and then went home. Exciting, huh??? At first I was a bit aprehensive about no seeing the family, but eventually it dawned on me that this was our opportunity to start our own traditions. It felt kinda silly to do a turkey for two people, so instead I got creative... We had pork chops stuffed with cranberries and apples, topped with a bourbon cream sauce. Not exactly a typical thanksgiving dinner, but I tried to make it distinctively american. Served alongside was roasted potatoes, a salad, and a pumpkin pie with butter pecan icecream to finish. It was yummy. Also a nice red zin to quash our thirst... We dined by candle-light in our PJ's. Not quite a naked turkey chili, but close. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. But it was still nice to just have a simple day together and do what we wanted to do. When I told some people today that we stayed home together for Thanksgiving, they felt bad for me. I laughed and told them that I love Eva and we just made a nice happy day together. I guess they can't understand that it's nice ot be different sometimes.
