Zeemax 0 #1 November 29, 2003 Some of you may remember my last post about my loaner dog, beth. Well she was only here for the weekend, but now i have my longer term loaner dog! Yup, the next 10 weeks will be with new best friend Zimba. Hes a male yellow lab pup who is now in his last 10 weeks of intensive training to be a guide dog. He absolutely rules. So clever and very playful. Currently however, asleep at my feet... lol.. useless... Anyway, i thought some of you guys may like to see what he looks like Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
bendywendy 0 #2 November 29, 2003 Awwwww... have fun with him! Of course, I'll bet he doesn't have a tail like Kuma's for you to try to straighten out.
Zeemax 0 #3 November 29, 2003 nah, his tail is NORMAL so playful though, its awesome we keep having nylabone throwing moments (read as hours) i throw he fetches, then shakes the shit of it before colapsing on me, then we repeate. EdC 0 #4 November 29, 2003 Labs are great dogs. They can be destructive if they get bored. My black lab likes to dig and chew. Keep him occupied and he should be good to go. Big Ed
Zeemax 0 #5 November 30, 2003 He's in his final 10 weeks of intensive training to be a guide dog, he's VERY well behaved. kai2k1 0 #6 November 30, 2003 Ive got 2 labs right now and possibly a third on the way. Hershey, my Chocolate Lab, Chance my Black Lab, and Im thinking of getting a yellow lab to complete the trio, but you dont find too many Yellow labs in shelters. Have fun with Zimba and get him alot of stuff to chew on. There's no truer sense of flying than sky diving," Scott Cowan
Zeemax 0 #7 November 30, 2003 he has a bone, a rubber thing called a kong and a nylabone. Thats all hes allowed. The guide dog people supply everything and these are the only toys he's allowed. So far theres been no chewing of anything else, although he's only been here about a week. McDuck 0 #10 November 30, 2003 Dude! He's awesome! I love dogs...and cats...and other animals, large and small. I think that volunteering at an endangered species park where I got to train tigers, leopards, pumas and lions was some of the happiest times (career wise) in my life. How cool for you to puppy-sit.
