skybytch 273 #1 December 3, 2003 It's after midnight here. I'm wide awake. I need to sleep or I'll be less than worthless tomorrow. What do you do to get to sleep when you need to get some sleep but can't?

skysprite 0 #7 December 3, 2003 Make yourself some hot tea and put on some light, sleepy music. When you're done with your tea, turn off the lights and put a warm cloth over your eyes and just try to sleep.~skysprite
Shawndiver 0 #8 December 3, 2003 Two things work for me: 1. Read something you've read a thousand times before. Preferably something dull! (Tech manual, etc.) 2. If you got a TV in the room, put it on a monotonous channel, (CNN works pretty good for me) turni t down low so it becomes background noise. Don't watch it! I find I tend to drift off with it instead of those inner conversations that keep you awake! Shawn_________________
Greene 0 #9 December 3, 2003 Turn off your computer.Drink milk, hot or cold it will not matter, works the same somehow and I have no clue why. And most important do not count sheep, count canopies landing all in a row very softly and not one of them doing something stupid, just a nice long landing sequence. It works! skybytch 273 #12 December 3, 2003 Quoteinstead of those inner conversations that keep you awake! Yeah, that damned internal monologue... it keeps looping the same three tracks over and over and over... I'd put CNN on but I don't have a TV in my little corner of the back room of the shop... Dagny 0 #13 December 3, 2003 Lay in bed in the dark and contemplate the many ways you will sell helmets and protracks and camera mounts in the morning? (that is if power has been restored and all is right in the world...well, sebastian, at least) I'm with Jib on the other suggestions....all good, by the way! Or you could just take a little cold medicine with an antihistamine, engage in some risque IM action, and wait until the sleep steals you away from reality? Always a favorite of mine....(well, not being sick, but the rest is fun!) Take me, I am the drug; take me, I am hallucinogenic. -Salvador Dali
freefallfreak 0 #14 December 3, 2003 Well, darling, don't take the muscle relaxants. However, what used to work for my ex-wife was thinking of having sex with me, lol. Think she might have been trying to tell me something, lol?? TripleF "Upon seeing the shadow of a pigeon, one must resist the urge to look up."
skybytch 273 #15 December 3, 2003 Quotecontemplate the many ways you will sell helmets and protracks and camera mounts in the morning? That's track 2 of the looping internal monologue. Track 1 is "boohoo I don't get to go home for Xmas" Track 3.... well, track 3 isn't much fun either. Fukkit. I'm taking a Robaxin and not caring how I feel in the morning. At least it will make the "voices in my head" STFU for tonight.

I don't have anybody here to have wild sweaty monkey sex with. Don't want to sacrifice any more kittens tonight either. Luckily the Robaxin seems to be doing the trick...
