DJL 235 #1 December 5, 2003 It's been a while since I've downloaded any music. What are the good sites now and what's the deal with getting busted?"I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
Push 0 #2 December 5, 2003 Kazaa still works. Getting busted still sucks -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. All you have to do is relax while plummetting at 120 mph from 10,000' with nothing but some nylon and webbing to save you.
DJatLarge 0 #3 December 5, 2003 ARRRRRRRRRRR!!! I have found that WINMX still works pretty well. WWW.winmx.com Free download of course. The latest thing I've heard is that they only find you if you are sharing files. I guess that makes me a true pirate if I don't share. Up to you and your Karma I guess! Cornholio 0 #4 December 5, 2003 I use FTP mostly. It's a little slow starting off, but once you start to trade FTP sites with other operators, you can build up a nice network of finding anything you want at any time. Most FTP sites are up 24/7, unlike P2P programs that run only when necessary. Although if you intend to leech, you're not going to be welcome much in the FTP community. Sharing is good, and most people will only trade with you if you have your own FTP site or know someone who doesn't mind you giving out the logon. And FTP is not 100% safe (I've never heard of anyone getting an RIAA letter or a DMCA letter), but it's a login-permission based method that usually keeps out the bad people (RIAA, MPAA, FBI, etc..) . As you can tell, I know a little about FTP. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah!
