Icon I3 - will it fit a Op. 143 and Pilot 132

Recommended Posts

As per the title really.

Looking into the possibility of new kit, so am doing my research. I am liking the look of the Icon - the sizing chart for the I3 has the reserve size for the smart reserve as a max 120. That's smaller than I'd be comfortable with, so with the lower pack volume reserves, will a optimum 143 be likely to fit? Can't find info on pack volume, but not sure if one company's pack volume quotes are comparable to another's.

I'd have a pilot 132 main in with it, which is the largest of the main canopies it is stated to hold.

There will also be an AAD in there too.

Anyone with experience on this one, I'd be happy to hear from you!!

Containers and canopies are of an expected pack volume, +/- some. So if you get a smaller I3 and a larger OP143, it will be a bitch to pack. Plus throw in a max size main and it will be stretching the side flaps to pack. Lastly, it will feel like a brick on your back. The again, might get a biggish container, smaller Op143 and it will be just tight-ish. I'd hate to spend that much to find out you are jumping a brick and have my rigger hate me.
