tunaplanet 0 #1 December 6, 2003 Anyone see this documentary (not to be confused with the WWII move Thin Red Line)? It is my all-time favorite documentary. It's directed by Errol Morris. It's based on a true story of a man who was falsely accused of murder and spent around 20 years (not sure the exact number) on death row before finally being released and his name cleared. On a dark night on a rural highway in Dallas in 1976, a Dallas police officer, Robert Wood, was shot and killed on a routine traffic stop. A man by the name of Randall Adams was arrested, convicted and put on death row. He all along claimed his innocence. It turned out the man who really killed the officer was a minor (think he was 16 or 17) by the name of David Harris who was picked up as a hitchiker days before the murder by Randall Adams. If you have not seen it find it and watch it. It is the most amazing documentary. Errol Morris is a fantastic director. David Harris was in prison on a non related charge when the documentary was filmed. He actually confesses to the murder on film. There are a lot of sites you can go to to read about this amazing story. The odd part of it all is that Randall Adams is not the least bit bitter. I think after approximately 20 years on death row I would be wanting blood. Forty-two

It is based on many interviews with former Secretary of Defense Robert Macnamara. It looks awesome. For those who don't know, Macnamara served during the Kennedy term. Macnamara is a brilliant man.
