eeneR 3 #1 December 6, 2003 Ok, now that I am somewhat coherent and am feeling better...... Well after the mass layoff at work I decided that I was going to go back down to Florida for a bit....So on Wed (Nov 19th) I meet up with Skybytch (who happened to be in town) at SDC....and the journey began...we caravanned down to Florida, Stopping just outside of Chattanoga for the night to get some sleep. Next morning, off we go, and on the road we get a call from Jack (jceman) inviting us over for dinner on the way through.....and all I can say is YUM...that was damn good Jamalaya!!!! Thanks Jack.... We get to Sebastian and crash....ZZZZzzzzz I pretty much spent the first weekend relaxing and doing the job hunt thing. Thank god for wireless internet....what better way to look for a job then on the sunny decks of Skydive Sebastian!!! Now if I would just get friggen call backs...stupid holidays Went to dinner at Hirams with Bytch and Leia (not sure if she posts here or not), and that was a very cool and enlightening evening...much needed!!!! Oh and BTW the Cajun Jerk Wings at Hirams Kick ass.... So Monday Night I head up to Orlando to Mike's (Aviatrr) place, to hang out up there, and hopefully get a meeting with PD lined up, (which unfortunately didn’t happen ) Hung out around the house Monday night and Tuesday as the weather sucked. Wed looked much better, so off to Deland we went. Got there with the intention of jumping the Skyvan, however with an hour and half wait for a slot on the Skyvan, to porter it was to be...and that was still a half hour wait got to do a funny as hell attempt at a 2 way Head down....great video...here's Renee...we break grips...zooommm there goes Renee Backslide away like a MOFO..whoops...hey it was my second attempt at head down. Had a most interesting landing too.... thank god there is not video of the landing...there was an attempt...just didn’t happen bawahaha woohoo. It was a way out of character landing for me. So after that we stopped in and visited Mike (Nightjumper) at JumpShack hung out there for a bit, then stopped in over at Birdman too. Headed back to mikes after that, as I had promised that I was going to make homemade apple crisp for the T-day dinner. So took over Mike's kitchen and made the apple crisp... Thurs Am we head out to Sebastian for T-day. After hanging around for a bit, we throw together a hybrid, with 4 on belly (jceman, Aviatrr, Dangy and myself) and one sitflyer (Lynn). Well it was a great theory, however didn’t work out quite as planned...but all had fun!! We all pretty much hung out after that waiting for fooood.... Dinner was finally served, and it was most excellent!!! Thanks Skydive Sebastian and the zoo bar for that. During and after, dinner the drinks were flowing.... and too my surprise, out came a B-day cake for me... The gang decided to have a little b-day celebration for me while I was down there, since I would not be there thru my b-day as originally planned. Thanks guys (especially Dagny) that damn near brought a tear to my eye. so any way, out of fear of what happened last time a cake came out when I was at Sebastian, I tried to pawn as much of it off as I could. Well being a bit intoxicated and having a short attention span I forgot about it So I go running into the Dropshop to grab another Smirnoff, and chatted with Lisa a bit...I come back outside, plop back down in my chair and start chatting with everone.... someone tells some good joke or what ever, I’m laughing and lean back in my chair......WHAMMMMMM $%@%$#$ Cake to the face...Mike got a clean shot right to the face...I have to say the set up was good. Needless to say a cake fight started, and well let me just say frosting is nasty when you get it up your nose. So after washing cake and frosting from my hair and face...we all kicked back relaxed and called it an early night.. Next morning Mike and I try to get Bytch to do a Pantz tracking dive but her back was still bugging her so it didn’t happen. So we headed off to Lake Wales on the way to Zhills. Get to Lake Wales, get all waiverd and stuff, go up do another 2 way HD, and again we break grip...and zooomm....heehee. Winds were a bit strong, pretty much straight down on landing. and I’m on a stiletto at 1.1:1. Nice soft landing....(Sorry Mike, wasn’t going to give you a second chance to redeem missing getting the botched landing video from DeLand ) Pack up and off to Zhills we go... We get to Zhills, set up our tents, and grab dinner, awaiting the arrival of Stacy, Dagny and Galen. We meet up with them, and all hang out at the bonfire chatting with everyone.... Let me tell you one thing, Im from Chicago...it was actually pretty damn cold that night, I didnt think that I would have needed my damn Northface mummy bag...but damn, I slept in it with fleece on!!! So anyway, next morning go waiver etc. First jump Mike and I go and do another 2 way HD, this time I sill backslide, but not as much. Second Load, Mike and I take Dagny and the111 on a four way belly jump and had some fall rate issues....so I give Dagny my slow suit, and I go to my nylon suit, but tape up the booties. Third jump Stacy and Galen join us on a 6 way zoo load! heehee....coming in to land I see about where Mike and Dagny are going to land, and line up a nice smooth easy carving turn, to build up a bit of speed and swoop between the two of them and surf by...and of course on that landing Mike didn’t have the camera running Jump four, was another 4 way, Dagny, the111, Mike and I. this time we all chase Dagny out the door, the111 follows out right after her, then Mike and I follow, getting there at the same time, and will things kinda fell apart as we docked on at the same time. Anyway, we finally get all back together after breakoff, make contact, and turn and burn. Jumping has completed...time to consume!!!! Lets just say, it was a damn yummy drink Mike was mixing out of the back of his truck 6 of us were pretty tanked that night!!! and well Stacy already told ya about the show giving to us by 2 un named Dz.commers (no I wasnt one of them) Needless to say the next morning, no one except the111 was in any shape to jump, either sick or hung over or both....we all pretty much headed out. I headed back to the Dropshop to hang with Bytch...on my way over there I had started to realize that I was getting what was going around. So I end up having to make the drive home to Chicago sick as hell. The trip kicked ass.....I want to thank Bytch for letting me crash at the Dropshop, you rock girl!!! and Mike for letting me and the dogs crash at your house, and um sorry I took over the kitchen heehee. You are a doll..... I get laid off from an internet startup company in Phoneix, then this headhunter in Boca Raton calls me about an IBM contract, I get the job over the phone, and end up spending the next 6 months on "vacation", living 50 ft from the beach, in Ft Lauderdale Dude, if I only had a time machine Id do it all over again. That was awesome, but I have a few regrets cause I didnt ever make it out to Key West. Shouldve done that.
