DJatLarge 0 #1 December 5, 2003 Ok, so I need a new job and possibly a new career. I've been looking so long I'm fed up and thought I would turn to here for advice. I've seen helpful ideas for others from "how to look cool" to "what should my container look like" so I thought I would open this up here to. Background..... I've been a newscast director for TV news for over 8 years. I'm good with technology and computers, yet don't want to go back to school. And I only have 50 jumps under my belt and very little cash, so jumping for the rest of my life is kinda out of the question. Thoughts?? Rants?? Beer donations??? PhreeZone 20 #2 December 5, 2003 Feel like doing video editing on a private basis? Some of the larger DZ's use a single editor to do all the video editing so the videographers only have to film.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

DJatLarge 0 #5 December 5, 2003 I've actually been doing some editing for my DZ when there is video to do. I don't really make any money off of it... i get $15 a video for editing and mailing it out. Basically pays for my materials and the shipping costs. Not really getting paid for my time, but it helps out the DZ.

gmanpilot 0 #7 December 5, 2003 Quote Ok, so I need a new job and possibly a new career. Thoughts?? The best advice I can give is the same advice I got when I was looking. Think about the activities you participate in where the following things apply, and get a job doing it: -The task is challenging and requires skill. -You concentrate. -There are clear goals. -You get immediate feedback. -You have deep, effortless involvement. -There is a sense of control. -Your sense of self vanishes. -Time stops. No, sex does not count. Only you can answer the question for yourself._________________________________________ -There's always free cheese in a mouse trap. PhillyKev 0 #10 December 5, 2003 QuoteJust find the one thing in life that you love the most and do it everyday for the rest of your life. Don't do that, you'll end up hating it. No one likes to have to do anything. When you make a hobby a career, it's no longer fun. Keep what you love for your time off. Yea, there are exceptions, but my observation has been that it's people who have evolved into a job based on their hobbies, not those looking for a job based on their hobbies. caress 0 #11 December 5, 2003 Well I know that cash is short for you but if you like to jump so much why don't you find something to do while you become a jumpmaster. It would take some time, but if skydiving is something you really enjoy, then go for it why does it have to be out of the question?-Caress I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.

They edited it up with music. Had 2 camera so it was not the 1 camera in the back doing the zoom in zoom out BS at the wrong times. He does it part time and goes to college the other time. OBTW- That $500.00 was for 2 1/2 hours of work.Bottomless Beers and Blue Skies! * Brother_Brian * D.S.W.F.S.B. #
