skyesspot 0 #1 December 10, 2003 Okay, a while ago I posted about my teenage daughter and what a pain she was being... well to be fair I must post about the things she has done so far about the trouble she was getting into. First ticket - she went before the judge and explained that she had done wrong (driving w/other kids while on a restricted license) but that she was trying to save a friend from getting beat up and that she knows she did wrong and was sorry but she felt her loyalty was to her friend. Judge dismissed it. (LUCKY child, I know). Second ticket - went to court today for the speeding ticket and she pleaded guilty and told the judge she wanted to do volunteer time (an option) to pay off the fine. I was floored. She has been giving me her whole paychecks to payback the money she owes me (and yes some complaining) but still handing it over. So I guess the moral is, she is going to be okay. (with bouts of totally teenagerism once in a while). Life is too short. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Girlfalldown 0 #5 December 10, 2003 Skye that's great to hear! I'm sure it has a lot to do with having a great mom to help her work through this kind of stuff and give her advice. -------------- (Do not, I repeat DO NOT, take my posts seriously.) TheBachelor 5 #7 December 10, 2003 That's good to hear. I didn't see the prior story, but it's good to see that she is the one standing up in front of the judge, and it's her time/money being used to pay for her mistakes. I don't like it when parents do/pay everything for their teenage kids. It doesn't teach the kid that they're responsible for their own actions. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
