Gravitymaster 0 #6 December 14, 2003 I heard one of these Bimbo's on the radio. They asked her who the Vice President of the United States was and she got all upset about being "ambushed" with a tricky question. She didn't know it was Cheney. LOL...............If this is the kind of opposition Bush can expect, we might as well not waste time and money with another election.
quade 4 #7 December 14, 2003 Since Gallup Polling Data shows a 55/43 approval rating for GWB overall at this time, I think it's kind of a reach to say that anybody that wants GWB out of office is an "extreme liberal". From the Gallup site: Quote According to Gallup trends, 55% is the exact average of the approval ratings taken in the third year of each of the last 10 presidents, from Dwight Eisenhower through Bill Clinton. Third-year average approval scores range from highs of 72% for Eisenhower and 70% for the elder George Bush, down to 37% for Jimmy Carter and 45% for Ronald Reagan. . . . When factoring disapproval ratings into the analysis, Bush's net approval rating (approval minus disapproval) is about average for all recent presidents, except Eisenhower. That is because Bush's 43% disapproval rating is slightly higher than what most other presidents received at the comparable point in time. At this time in his presidency Bush (41) had a rating of 70% and still managed to become a one term President. To be fair, Reagan, at this point had a 45% and he's touted as one of the most popular and greatest presidents of all times (by conservatives) and of course -was- re-elected, so ya can just never tell. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out next November.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
RevJim 0 #8 December 14, 2003 Chill Q. Humor, dude, humor. Ya know, the funny thing about those gallop poles......they are supposed to give an indicator of how the country feels. Well, sometime I agree with them, sometimes I don't, but how accurate can it be when I've never been polled, non of the people i know have been polled, and none of the people that the people I know know have been polled? I still, to this day, feel as though the gallop poll is about an equal to the "exit poll". Hear about it. See numbers. Never actually see a pollster. It's your life, live it! TheAnvil 0 #9 December 14, 2003 billvon isn't a far left liberal. I have high hopes of converting him into a hypocritical libertarian. Nice calendar. Gravitymaster had it right - one of these ladies was getting interviewed by Sean Hannity and didn't know who the VP was!!!!! Pure genius at work. The following quote is disgusting but typical of lefty attacks: A portion of the money we take in will be donated to worthy causes of the sort that give Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powell and company fits - pro-environment, pro-civil rights, pro-peace, pro-woman, anti-AIDS, and most especially ANTI-Bush. quade 4 #11 December 14, 2003 Quote The following quote is disgusting but typical of lefty attacks: You call that an attack? That hardly qualifies as a statement, let alone an attack! And I always thought you extreme right wingers were think skinned. Now I find out you're just a bunch of wimps! Oh, wait, that was the word Bush (41) didn't like to be called, wasn't it? BTW, I -never- thought Bush (41) was a wimp. Even though I didn't always agree with everything he did, I always thought he was a pretty smart and tough guy.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
quade 4 #12 December 14, 2003 Quote . . . but how accurate can it be when I've never been polled, non of the people i know have been polled, and none of the people that the people I know know have been polled? It's called a representative sample. Do a Google search of a thing called "statistics". Is it perfect? No. Is it close enough to predict a heck of a lot of things? Yes, if the sample is large enough and an accurate representation of the larger group. Using the example that you've never been exit polled to argue that the system doesn't work would be a little like saying that you can't be struck by lightning. Just because you haven't been yet, doesn't mean you couldn't or won't.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Gravitymaster 0 #13 December 14, 2003 I've been polled several times.
RevJim 0 #14 December 14, 2003 I'm not using the statement to argue, Paul. I'm just saying I've never been polled. My friends have never been polled. My friends friends have never been polled. I'm just saying never rely on polls. I don't exactly like Bush. I didn't exactly like Clinton. In fact, the last president from a non republicrat party was Millard Fillmore. It's your life, live it! TheAnvil 0 #15 December 14, 2003 Yes, it is an attack. The reason you don't see it is because those attack themes are so rampant among the websites/propaganda of the left that they are taken for granted. Pro-civil rights sending the GOP into fits? This attack is CRITICAL to dem long term strategy. Despite the fact the the GOP does NOT support racial discrimination and the Democratic party does, the left has been highly successful in characterizing the GOP as a bunch of racists. They use race-baiting, scare tactics, and outright lies (oops! I repeat myself) to motivate their minority voting base. Pro-woman issues sending the GOP into fits? Like the latter, the left uses the GOP's opposition to unrestricted abortions for all to scare women into voting for them. Not as critical an attack theme as the anti-civil rights BS, but still critical if the left wants to eke out a victory for socialism. Pro-peace sending the GOP into fits? Characterizing the GOP as war-mongers. How nice. Easy to do given the loathing we conservatives have for appeasement and for the hard line commie buffoons who are sponsoring some of the peace demonstrations. Incorrect, but easy to pass off to the uneducated. I could go on, but don't think I need to. I stand by my statement - that was an attack. Not a creative one, mind you, but an attack nonetheless.Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!! kpjumps 0 #16 December 15, 2003 Rest assured RevJim. I worked my butt off for that company for four years before leaving behind 70 hour work weeks for the wonderful world of teaching. And I'd bet you or a friend has been called by them but didn't stay on the phone long enough to find out it was Gallup. (Since the majority of their work isn't political) The sample is computer generated for most polls but many political polls gathered sample (phone lists) from registered voters or those active in their political party.Your character will ultimately determine your destiny.
