What makes a skydiver a skydiver? AKA be nice to the tandems

Recommended Posts

I doubt it Brian.. he wears shorts all winter so far....

Rob did you get in any of the coach jumps??? I wanted to go down there BUT... shite.. I looked at the sky and did not want to make that long of a drive to sit on the ground down there again due to low clouds.

not to worry. I'm not an exhibitionist. I just wear shorts all year long. everyone seems to think I'm a little crazy when it's only 30 something degrees out and I'm in shorts and a tee shirt. let us know if you make it out here. we can do some RW or whatever.

My $0.02 for whatever it is worth...

I am one of those tandem folks still. I have made 1 jump so far and intend to do more, but finances have prevented it thus far.

That being said, I have never been made to feel anything but welcome by the folks here at DZ.com or the people down at Gold Coast where I did my tandem. This extends to the time BEFORE I ever did my jump. Folks made a point to answer my questions and do everything they could to help me despite the fact that I had done absolutely nothing towards a skydive other than speak an interest.

I don't know if my case is somehow different from most, but the community in general has been nothing but great to me and I am eternally grateful for that.

Yeah, it's fine, we'll walk down the line. Leave our rain, a cold trade for warm sunshine
You my friend, I will defend... and if we change, well, I love you anyway

and that's the way it should be, and usually is. this is not a cheap sport to get in to and that is why it is important for the experienced jumpers to help the lowtime jumpers when they can. so that they in turn will be willing to help the next group of students when they can and keep the sport growing.

Well, if I marched into France with a skirt and a bad attitude, I might well be running the country.

Sorry too easy of a joke for a yank to pass up after all of the history of French military victories have been given lately.

I want Belize, Denmark and Ireland. You guys can have the rest. These 3 countries have everythign I need. A nice combination of warm weather, an open attitude and my family and friends.

And I am not EVEN going back to Central America...nope.. no how no way...been there....

I'll take France; but, only as a speculative position.
How the hell did I get myself into this? You're only giving me France becuase I only have 13 jumps. If I had my D and 1,000+ jumps, I'd have the USA, Canada and the rights to the Middle East. But no, 13 jump Brian gets three nice little countries and France.

Let me head over to the tandem area. Someone will take France off my hand. I am a skygod. ;)

if you work the tandems right you could sell France and get enough to buy a whole continent. then you could be a skygod with a continent. think of the possibilities
