happythoughts 0 #2 December 14, 2003 Whenever someone does a Powerpoint presentation for the first time, you can always tell. Instead of presenting information, they are showing how well they can use PP. I never use it because I like to see people writing notes on the handouts. I saw a document detailing how much money that Nasa spent on shuttle software. Their detail design doc was over 2500 pages. 250 people working on it. 2fat2fly 0 #3 December 15, 2003 I have to admit-whenever the data doesn't say what I wish that it would, I will "busy" the slides up with soundbites and animation. It's worked so far At least it usually buys me enough time to find and address the issues.I am not the man. But the man knows my name...and he's worried
freeflir29 0 #4 December 15, 2003 I grew to hate PP in the military. I literally could not undertake an operation without giving a brief to the CO via PP. Very annoying.....
CrazyIvan 0 #5 December 15, 2003 If you want to torture an Executive to death and make him/her do or give you anything you want, tell him/her PP has to be reinstalled and hide the wireless mouse __________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you. bvsdjumper 0 #6 December 15, 2003 I know it's fun to bash Micro$oft (I'm not a big fan of MS), but this isn't a Powerpoint problem. If anything, it's a problem with any "slideware" software. Or, better yet, a problem with people not knowing how to use this kind of software properly. There's nothing wrong with PP presentations done properly. --ArtSky-div'ing (ski'div'ing) n. mfrese 0 #7 December 15, 2003 I've got to agree here...I was just reading through a PP presentation thinking that it's a poor workman whos blames his tools. Generally, people try to put bare bones information into a PP pres, but unfortunately make the wrong assumption about their target audience's prior knowledge. This usually means I end up taking notes and referring to at least three other documents before it makes any sense. Maybe we can do the FJC in PP and see how THAT works!
