what to do

Recommended Posts

It’s our gift exchange/xmas party today at work. We all drew names, so I bought a gift for the person whose name I drew. And brought a few other gifts for some people I like. Now I'm getting gifts from people that I didn't even want to buy things for. What do I do??? Run out and get them something tomorrow? AHHHHHHHHH should I feel this guilty?

Do not feel guilty - you are not obligated to do anything but thank those people sincerely and wish them happy holidays.

Stick to your plan and don't break your gift budget.

(Besides, if you run out now and buy these people 'guilt-gifts', it'll be obvious, therefore lame.)

Don't worry about it!!! :)

you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?

Give them a really nice thank you card. Appreciate their kindness, and let them know they brightened your holiday. Wish them the best holiday season, and a great new year. Drop it into their box or on their desk, and voila! They have something that makes them feel good, and it xost you about $8 to buy a nice pack of thank you cards.

That's what I do, if I can remember.

Speaking of which...I need to get the cards out and have them come with me to the office. LOL!!! Thanks for the reminder, Jay!

You should make a donation in their name to a charity that does not exist. Just type out a little piece of paper saying "There has been a $20 donation made in your name to the 'Human Fund'---The Human Fund-Money, for Humans".

Give 'er a shot.

I completely agree with, Michele, giving those who've given you a gift a Thank-You card. It's appropriate, it's thoughtful & the person you've given it to will remember. But to go a step further, in the event you can't shake those fellings of guilt, here's an idea that won't blow your budget, it'll fit right inside your card, plus it's soooo much fun & has incredible potential ... A LOTTERY TICKET! Slip one of those in the card as an added thank-you ... & see what can become of it.B|

PS Stashing extras in your desk is an excellent idea, Nightingale, since you never know who'll suprise you at the last minute & if you have any left over tickets consider it a gift to yourself. :)
