Jessica 0 #1 December 16, 2003 Should I go to work today? Sunday was my first day back, after three weeks recuperating from a broken pelvis and tailbone, but I was in so much pain that after three hours I had to go home. I took Monday off too. I think part of it was that I traveled from Dallas to San Antonio Saturday afternoon, and the trip took a lot out of me. I think I could make it through work today...but I'm not sure. I don't want to piss the management off, though. And I feel like if I can work, I should. Apparently being able to sit up without much pain on a couch is different than being able to sit for eight hour straight in an office chair.Skydiving is for cool people only

Jessica 0 #9 December 16, 2003 To be honest, I'd love to stay home today. I think one more day would really put me to the point where I'd be ready to go back. I don't want to set myself back by hurting myself by working too soon. Problem is I've already been off for three weeks and I'm taking two days off next week to go back to Dallas to see the bone doc. I'm starting to feel guilty about how much work I'm missing.Skydiving is for cool people only
Jessica 0 #10 December 16, 2003 Of course, the fuckers DID schedule me to work xmas eve, xmas day, new year's eve and new year's day. They deserve to struggle through another day without me, those bastards.Skydiving is for cool people only

Might as well stay home and surf some good porn then ... or to come up with some sort of design for a Type 7 webbing harness to be used on extracuricular activities... lolRemster
DShiznit 0 #13 December 16, 2003 Your doctor didn't put you on "half-days" for a few months?? They usually don't release someone back to work completely after an injury as severe as yours.
Jessica 0 #14 December 16, 2003 Quotetell us how you really feel about your company. They are fuckers. Doc didn't put me on half days officially. He said to resume activities as my pain level allows. I insisted I was ready to go back to work, but now I find that I may have been really unrealistic.Skydiving is for cool people only

Deuce 1 #16 December 16, 2003 Jess, the best pain med that I have used that let me work and be almost normal (my definition) is Ultram, or Tramadol. It's non-narcotic, so it doesn't have the side effects of codeine, and it usually puts the person taking it into a good mood. When I had hit bottom with my pain management I got switched to that from Vicoden, and I thought it actually worked much better. No track marks and all that. PhreeZone 20 #17 December 16, 2003 Tell work to fuck off... go and get some carrots and play with the birides today. Pushing the injury does'nt help you in the long run.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
Jessica 0 #18 December 16, 2003 Birdies are so happy I'm back. "RAWK WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU FOR THREE WEEKS MOMMY????" I don't know if I can "push the injury." Doctors said I can't really damage the fractures any further, so I think I'm only limited by pain. I don't want to be a pussy, but I don't want to go to work and be miserable. My doctor (aka "Dad") just e-mailed me and said to stay home if I want. Professional medical advice!Skydiving is for cool people only
