flygirl03 0 #1 December 17, 2003 for me anyway... Im starting my First Thread (Beer) * No That's not the Momentous Occasion.... * The M O is that I went to WORK OUT this evening. Me!!! Miss Allergic to exercise!! I HAVE to. Skydiving was wearing me out!! My arms aren't strong enough to flare, or pull in the canopy in in the wind after I land...lugging the 30lb student rig around was hurting my back (as was arching) I Have to get stronger if I am going to keep doing this. * Not to mention I could stand to loose a few pounds ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ earthbound misfit
Lee03 0 #2 December 17, 2003 Take it from me flygirl.. after the initial soreness wears off.. you won't believe how much better you will feel. -------- To put your life in danger from time to time ... breeds a saneness in dealing with day-to-day trivialities. --Nevil Shute, Slide Rule
Kramer 0 #3 December 17, 2003 Good for you flygirl. Keep at it. Working out is quite possibly the best thing you can do for yourself. Work out religiously for six months, look at yourself in the mirror, and then tell me it wasn't worth it. (PS: You're gorgeous no matter what you do). -Kramer The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

Keep exercising. You'll learn to love it. I, too, had to do some upper body exercises to be able to flare fully. The male jumpmasters keep telling me you don't use muscles in skydiving... and I'm like huh??? . I'm always really sore in the back and neck the next day... still need to remind myself to relax in freefall. I guess it's a natural, instinctual reaction to tense up when you are hurling towards earth ."If the Bible has taught us nothing else, and it hasn't, it's that girls should stick to girl's sports such as hot oil wrestling and foxy boxing." - Homer Simpson
