So much for "sunny" Florida

Recommended Posts

"A wind chill advisory has been issued for early Thursday for brevard, lake, seminole, orange, osceola and volusia counties (that's Central FL)
Overnight low temperatures are expected to drop into the mid to upper 30s across much of east central Florida. At the same time, northwest winds will make it feel even colder, with wind chill values falling to the upper 20s across volusia and north lake counties, and the lower 30s over metro orlando and melbourne. These low wind chill values will be realized early Thursday morning, between 5 and 9 am."

Geez o pete, we'll be freezing our arses' off like the rest of you tonight. If it's going to be this cold, we should at least get snow to play in, darn it! :S

30s at night? sounds like a heat wave to me.

It better be warm next week - the last time I was in FL over the winter it turned out to be one of the coldest on record and I had to scrape ice off of my car!

Quit your whinning!

O.K. so we have a day or two of cold. I do not like it either but look at the forecast.

Sun

Mon
Dec 22 Partly Cloudy 72°/56° 10 %
Tue
Dec 23 Few Showers 76°/56° 30 %
Wed
Dec 24 Few Showers 73°/46° 30 %
Thu

I mean X-Mas it is going to be in the 70's.

You'll get over it.

It seems to me I remember someone not too happy about being cold last year on a trip up north. Something about hands being too cold. ;) I dunno.

Even though this individual almost knocked me out with a snowball! :P

Now that is a switch! I was stationed at Fort Lewis from the end of 91 to 93. I never saw such miserable weather in my life!

Skymama has purple hair?

LOL...no, I think he was talking about the "blue-hairs" we have here in FL, but I guess through his rose colored glasses, they look purple.

My hands are STILL cold. I guess you missed this thread.

I know it's colder other places, but this is damn cold for FL. I mean, I got that info off the severe weather bulletin!

Didn't we just talk about this cold crap the other day Kramer? The high was around 60 or something and we both agreed that was too cold to jump. But, the reason we don't jump in weather that cold is because we don't have to jump in weather that cold, which is proven by the forecast you've posted.

If you don't like the weather in Florida, just wait around a minute. :P

Yeah I actually do not go into the Women's thread.

I guess I am strange that way. :S

I think all women are just naturally cold. Every woman in the office has their own space heater bought by the company. It is crazy. :D

That shit better warm back up by New Year's

Dude our 57 right now would be warm for you. If it gets to the 70's you will probably be running around in shorts while we are all bundled up. :D We will think you are nuts and vice versa from your perspective.

You think it has to get to the 70s for me to be running around in shorts?? Shit...give me 50, and I'm happy. B|:P

While we're on the subject, the firealarm went off in my building at 2:00 in the morning last night, I went outside with shorts and sandles on in 20-degree weather...mistake. ;)

To everybody who says we Floridians are wusses for complaining about this weather:

I seriously think there is something different about the cold in FL. I spent the first 21 years of my life in FL and never saw a winter in any other state, and NEVER SAW SNOW. Every winter here seemed freezing to me. Last March I went to Tahoe and saw snow for the first time, and went snowboarding. I could sit out in that weather ALL DAY, wearing only jeans and a longsleeved shirt and jacket, even when I was riding the lift to the top of the run, with wind and snowflakes hitting me in the face. It actually felt good and I liked it. I thought ahead of time that something that cold would kill me. I'm not sure what it is, but there's something more to the equation than just temperature. Humidity is a big part, I'm sure.

And Mama: it could still be very sunny tomorrow. Perhaps you meant so much for "warm" Florida. :)
