happythoughts 0 #1 December 19, 2003 Two "masterminds" jumped into a police car to make their getaway. Doh! QuotePolice say the men usually target houses left unoccupied when owners go out to dinner. Officers say the men usually get dropped off, pick out a few houses to hit and then have a rendezvous pickup point for a getaway driver. The men were arrested after jumping into the police car as an officer responded to a call about a burglary, says NBC2. Sergeant Robert Maxfield, who was driving the car, said: "They thought this was the getaway vehicle and I was in the right place at the right time." clicky

mr2mk1g 10 #5 December 19, 2003 to turn this story on its head... the criminals actually run towards the police... get in the police car... and are seen red handed... and the police STILL manage to let one of them getaway???
happythoughts 0 #6 December 19, 2003 That's Florida. I grew up in a small town here. Once the police station was broken into. When my house was broken into, they sent a guy over to do finger prints. I had a full handprint, visible to the eye on the washing machine. The guy pulls out a vial of fingerprint powder (graphite?) and sprinkles it on the machine. He then trips, spills it into/onto the machine leaving a permanent black stain on the outside. He messed up his ankle in the fall and had to have another car take him to a walk-in clinic. Life in a small town.
