Who hates people that clap during a movie?!?!

Recommended Posts

Just saw the midnight showing and i fucking loved everything except all the stupid people clapping anytime anything even remotely dramatic happened>:(>:( god that annoys me!!!

Anyways, it was a very good movie. I havn't read the Return of the Kings book so the movie kept me on the edge of my seat for most the movie. Loved it, gonna go see it again so i won't have to deal with all those people clapping:S

It must be an american thing. I've never come across that.

But, I've just come back from Boston, and there was a large contigent on religious people going to a convention in Sydney. When the plane landed, they clapped and cheered.

ummmm it's _supposed_ to do that :S

I hate people that talk to the characters on screen. For example "Girl, don't open that door!" and then of course they follow it up with "I told you not to open that door." It is as if the movie will stop and the character will look into the camera and say "Thanks." Yeah, I hate people who do that. And how hard is it to set your cell phone or pager to vibrate or shut the damn thing off. What’s even worse is when their phone rings and they answer, then they carry on a conversation giving the caller a play by play of the movie. Maybe that is why I wait until movies come out on DVD.

You are kidding aren't you? DURING the movie? I don't have an issue at the end, even though I don't think anyone is going to come out and take a bow or anything. But DURING the movie? Sounds like morons. I've never seen it. But the talking and comments during the movie is really annoying. Or someone asking questions - it's not like they didn't see exactly what everybody else saw, so what insight are they looking for?

I have four extra tickets for the IMAX version at 2, and I can't give them away! Everyone's on vacation, or can't get off work, or can't go without their s/o, or already has plans, or has to watch their kids. Wah, people. Where are your priorities????

Clapping, I don't mind so much. Talking to the screen...that gets annoying. It's when people start shooting at the screen that I get pissed off.

only happens in the movies full of fanatics. I never go to see fantasy or sci-fi movies on opening day, and that's one of the reasons.

I remember going to see Batman on opening day. Comic-book fanatics slept in line for tickets... I show up that morning and still got in (suckers!)

Peeps were clappin' and who-hooin' every 10 minutes... they actually stopped the film mid-way through, and had a staff memeber walk down front and centre to say everyone had to shut up or they wouldn't start 'er back up again.

Kinda annoying... but I didn't mind the hootin' and hollerin' so much. I went to see it with a bunch of people. We had fun. I knew I'd see the film again.

I actually think it's kind of neat.

Especially with a movie like this, that I love so much.

It tells me that everyone else is as into it as I am, that they are absolutely loving it as much as I am. It warms my heart. Besides, all the clapping at ROTK was mostly during loud battle sequences, anyway, so you aren't missing anythng sound wise.

I've heard reviews from people who went to critics' screenings, of this movie, and even the CRITICS were clapping in some parts.

the loudest cheers were for the death of the witch king and when Sam started carrying Frodo...

For some reason, I kinda like it when people clap. Maybe not during the movie...but when it's over, and the credits start, and people start clapping...I think that's pretty cool.
