kansasskydiver 0 #1 December 19, 2003 We just finished making our Year End video last night. Between the video capturing, making the videos, authoring the DVD, converting the audio to 5.1 and making the covers etc it's taken us about 200 hours... Is this average lol? When I came up with the idea of making a year end video I had no idea it was going to be so involved. But it kicks BUTT! dvd menus, hidden tracks, animations everything! Anyone want one?<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!
AndyMan 7 #2 December 19, 2003 My video was 20 minutes, and took about two weeks of after hours editing, usually a few hours a night, 4 times a week. A good estimate for the editing was probably 15 hours. I wasted a few hours after that trying to get a good VCD burn, so it probably came close to 20 hours. Some people make their skydiving videos like they're ADD - with no clips longer then 3 seconds. I can see how this would hinder the editing process, but most of my shots are at least 30 seconds long. I'll post it when I re-edit for a family audience. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
PhreeZone 20 #3 December 19, 2003 My video is in my Pointless video post and it pains me to say it took me about 14 hours to put it together including capture. It would have been a lot easier but I was trying to play with the audio and chop the song up to make it shorter after I edited a lot already and I ended up doubleing my efforts in a few places. I wasted too much time playing with effects that in the end got cut. I only had a total of 75 minutes tape shot this year to work with so a lot of my video was limited to what I had on tape. Honestly mine took longer to render all the fades time after time then it took to actually do the editing. Lots of lessons learned and will be carried over to next years.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
