diablopilot 2 #79 December 18, 2003 My response really should not have been directed at you. I can understand those types of fears. I'd be happy to jump with you again! It comes more from a build up of distaste for what I have seen occuring over the last 3 months about the Eloy Holiday Boogie. Last year I attended the boogie and had a great time, including meeting a few DZ.commers. But I was also treated poorly when I declined to participate in a DZ.com event. I don't need to travel 500-1100 miles to be treated badly, there are 900 numbers for that. And stripes was a great movie, just didn't catch the reference.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. Kris 0 #81 December 18, 2003 QuoteQuoteDon't forget to put the butt band on your rig if you want to go and freefly *lol* god this is too funny. No kidding. My rig has never had the legstraps slip in over 130+ sitfly jumps on it. I am not putting one of those things on my rig for a coach jump. I can go to TX and get coach jumps from VIBE or Anomaly with less hassle. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

YEP, it's a WAAAAAHHHHHMBULANCE. Get a grip dude and a thicker skin. If someone shined you on becasue you didn't want to play with them then fuck them go find some other friends to jump with. Just trying to provide what folks have asked for. Bottom line is that folks can join in or not...some people like organiziation while others don't. We all get our feelings hurt from time to time in various places including boogies, I've experienced the same. It is unforunate, but it does happen. I certainly can't fix everything, nor am I responsible for folks having a good time...thats up to them. Skydive Arizona puts safety first and thusly the protocols and conditions. diablopilot 2 #86 December 18, 2003 QuoteSkydive Arizona puts safety first and thusly the protocols and conditions. I'll not apologize for that. And I don't expect you to. But to use the example PhreeZone pointed out, it *sounds* like ADAZ is going to require *everyone* to utilize what is esentialy a "band-aid" for an ill fitting harness. Or is just the DZ.commers who will be affected?---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. That protocol is ONLY for those wanting to jump with Omar and Greg and is what THEY require and listed. If you don't want to jump with them...you don't have to bungee your straps. diablopilot 2 #89 December 18, 2003 Interesting. Never before have they required me to wear one when jumping with them. skymama 37 #91 December 18, 2003 Please correct me if I'm wrong. Wasn't the whole point of Betsy pre-manifesting us for the balloon jumps was so we could be assured to get a spot on the jumps since there are going to be so many people there, including non-dz.com people? I see that as a plus! Now that's one more thing I don't have to worry about when I get there. I can just show up and give them my money and I'll be jumping with my friends. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

And what about all those that don't participate in DZ.com, or some one who on a spur of the moment decides to make one with a couple of new friends. Belive me they will resnet DZ.com for it. There is a difference between organized and too organized. Eloy (and the holiday boogie) existed before DZ.com and will have to exist after the often fickel participents of DZ.com move on. jfields 0 #94 December 18, 2003 This is a situation where SDA, Betsy, etc. cannot "win". There is no way to please everyone. The best they can do is try to run a safe boogie that will be fun for the majority. I haven't been to SDA before, but from what I've heard, they are on track to accomplish that goal. No, everyone won't be thrilled by every decision. Stay home, or go and make the best of it. I'm not trying to be mean, and I hope you choose to attend. But with any big function, you have to acknowledge the limitations they are working under.

diablopilot 2 #96 December 18, 2003 I did not take your input a mean in any way. I've had the opportunity to organize under such conditions, and don't welcome the head ache. skymama 37 #97 December 18, 2003 From looking at the list, it seems there is still plenty of room on the balloon jumps for non-dz.com people to get on. I thought I remembered Betsy saying that there are 2 loads a session anyway. Besides that, isn't it always "first come, first serve" anytime you go to a dz? All the teams at Deland pre-manifest and fill up the planes throughout the day. How is that different from this boogie? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
diablopilot 2 #98 December 18, 2003 It's the spirit of the thing. Most DZ's I've been to will not let you manifest unless your packed and ready to jump. It's just fair. So Manifesting 2-3 weeks in advance to me is like saying I'm manifesting myself and 22 of my friends for the sunset load every Saturday for the next six months right now. Please understand it's not this one issue, it's the general flavor of things over the past few months. But BB's right. I have my choice Vanilla or Chocholate. Maybe even Strawberry. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
PhreeZone 20 #99 December 18, 2003 >This is a situation where SDA, Betsy, etc. cannot "win". I don't know.. WFFC seemed to have this issue solved. No Premanifesting at all for the Balloons more then a day or two out. Keeps everyone happy and if the weather cancels an attempt its not an issue since they give those bumped first shot at the next load flying. Premanifesting every possible load means if you get winded out, you only have one shot.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Yes well I guess that means that we shouldn't have an organized events at other DZ's this year either? Not going to continue down this road. As this is the annual Dropzone.com boogie, it will continue on until Sangiro says otherwise, and I will continue planning Dropzone.com events as long as Sangiro would like to have them. With the influx of folks joining our community, I think it will be around for quite some time. To those of you that will not be with us during this time...I wish you all a healthy, happy holiday season. BB
